137 is my favorite so far.

 

part of me wishes I enjoyed ranking things, but a bigger part of me is happier I don't. i'm more of a cultural context guy, i guess, less of a this vs that approach

 

The spoken word dialogue at the beginning of Lit Me Up gives me chills. especially when you draw the parallels to that and the Space Odyssey quote that was on the CDs and also just how this band feels about their art - based on our limited understanding of the details of this band.

"But, I'm... while I don't mind having all this going on inside of me. It's sort of... I think I'm going to be relived when it's over. When I can sort of settle back down"

 

Almost partially implies they're doing it bc they feel they have to, some element of it is for us or at least on our behalf

 

Shit I don't even know about a favorite. It could be any of Lit Me Up, Same Logic, 137, Out Of Mana, In The Water, or Batter Up. I'm still too early in the process of learning about this album to designate a favorite or least favorite.

yeah im going approach Brand New ending like i approached the birth of an LP5... ill believe its actually happening when it has happened. but no doubt when you hear that on Lit Me Up and read that quote on the CDs... its close?

either way, i feel selfish even requesting more from this band, but i would absolutely love one last very very detailed interview. like an hour to an hour and a half long thing where they just lay it all out there. but i dont think that will ever happen.

 

I really really really hope I have a copy of the CD waiting for me at home but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

 

So this is the album I've been waiting for. I love it so much.

Some rubberneck wanted to ban me for making a ranking, and it's their fault that I couldn't get to experience the release party with all the necessary insider info that this thread had. They deprived me of having a better experience. Goddamnit.

True. That would be cool but would not surprise me if brand new play this in full as I'm sure they'll be keen on playing new stuff live and why not play the whole album. Haha. Especially as it's being very well received by the majority haha

I've been listening to "Sink" so much recently

 

My favorite songs on this album are definitely 451, Waste, and Same Logic/Teeth, but holy fuck this albums just so good you can't really rank it

 

451 is so so so good. head and shoulders the best track on here

 

Yea... I'm generally someone who thinks ranking is kind of pointless in contexts like this. But if I was a ranking guy... I couldn't do this one yet. It's such a complete album. It's an experience.
