I was so bummed when that got cancelled. I was going to attend as well.

 

I hope I'm going to enjoy this new album but I don't think it'll come anywhere close to The 1975 album. I wouldn't even put the selftitled on par with that and that's by far Blink's best imo.

Honestly the only thing I can see possibly topping The 1975 now I've heard The Hotelier is the new Busted album if that comes out as good as I want it to.

 

Cassino is the only album that could probably knock off The 1975 for me but then again the styles are so different it wouldn't be fair to compare them.

 

I don't think we should even compare 1975 with blink. Two totally different bands. I can't get the hype over their latest album. IMO the first one was far more solid.

They aren't interludes, there's one instrumental song and one mostly instrumental song. Both are fabulous.

 

Honestly I'll be surprised and happy if this album has a single song as good as anything on The 1975 album, ha.

 

I hope there won't be any synth pop songs.

Which is good. As Travis said: "Blink is blink." Personally I don't want them to take over the newfangled trends or to copy any other band sound.

 

I doubt a bunch of 40 year olds are going to change their style on album 8 haha

Sorry for bringing up the 1975 guys. I was trying to gauge Jason's excitement, anticipation, and expectation for an album that is being heavily talked about on his site. The last record to have a similar buzz from his user base on Chorus/AP was that 1975 record. That was the comparison I was really going for, not the actual music. Again, sorry for derailing this thread for everyone.

 

I get it, they're both hugely popular bands on here despite them sounding nothing alike. I don't really see the harm in bringing it up, ha.
