My dialect is TV.

 

Definitely got lightning bug via family.

 

i mean i've never seen a firefly and wouldn't know what they are without tv

 

I call it a firefly but I like the name lightning bug

Pokedex says: Firefly, the lightning bug pokemon

 

now i have that damn owl city song stuck in my head

 

yeah i'm pretty sure as a kid in NY we used to call them lightning bugs but now i use firefly/lightning bug interchangeably because of Owl City and Pennsylvania dialect haha

 

As a kid in NY I called them fireflies!!!

 

I still have a major soft spot for Ocean Eyes

 

Yesssssss. Something about that album gets me so nostalgic, still a favorite summer album of mine. It's also his only album I actually like all the way through.

 

On the Wing and Meteor Shower remind me of Christmas 2009 when we lit candles, placed them in paper bags, and set the bags in the snow lining our driveway. it was very quiet and peaceful, and i wouldn't mind going back to that moment.

 

"Vanilla Twilight" is also perf

And "Meteor Shower" is one of the best on there.

 

He never managed to break out of his cocoon of goofy lyrics and the same kinds of synth sounds. But for his little niche he created, he nailed it on that record

 

same. He gets so much undeserved hate.

 

Pretty much how I feel about him. That one album was goofy and fun and that's what made it so appealing. But continuing in that same vein caused it grow stale fast. It's a shame, I wish he could've branched out more, I would've loved to see what other things he could've come up with

 

tbh even Ocean Eyes hasn't had a ton of staying power for me but i don't begrudge him or the people who dig him. although i do think his popular songs were among his worst

Just noticed how hairy his arms are here...

 

like Robin Williams. dude's arms looked like a gorilla. (i say this without condemnation and as an Italian/otter lmao)

 

Am also half otter human. I feel your pain

 

I can't find a single other photo of him with even a hair on his arms.

 

(just so you know that's a slang term for skinny, hairy queer guys that isn't like super official/popular but i'm determined to make it so as i'm neither a bear nor a twink hahaha. regardless of whether you're queer or not i just wanted to make sure that was common knowledge in case it wasn't so you didn't accidentally use it in a context you didn't intend. if that makes sense. ahaha.)
