I find it a little boring to be honest.. Glad everyone else loves it but it's 110 degrees in Florida and I'm not feeling it...

Anyone comparing Brand New to Fall Out Boy needs to be flagged. No. Just no.

 

I tried to read through the thread and didn't see anyone mention this, but did anyone notice that heavy ass jam for like 45 seconds at the end of No Control? Before it goes into the super creepy woman laughing outro? I wish that jam was turned into a song. That ripped.

This is Jesse and the gang's pension essentially. Thems diapers for lil Bowie don't come cheap :p

 

Really wouldn't shock me for a second if that and the Mana outro exist(ed) in more complete forms somewhere along the way to making this.

 

Some thoughts:

1. I need to see Waste live like NOW. The guitar that comes in at 3:15 makes me melt. So beautiful.

2. In the Water has got to be one of the best songs they've ever written.

3. I'm bummed I moved away from the Bay Area cause they are friggen skipping L.A.!!!

4. I could honestly do without No Control. Kind of a snoozer

 

Just got done with Deja. Back to Science Fiction again.

Also in 110 degree (heat index) Florida, and I'm definitely feeling it.

 

I just listened to Deja and there was lyric that I caught a reference too when it comes to this line but now I'm forgetting *sigh*

 

Also, this, from "Waste". I feel like that's a Limousine nod.

 

It's amazing from start to finish and as the song progresses it just keeps on throwing in little surprises. Honestly, I thought the song was fantastic and then at about the 3:50 mark they go into that jam that I didn't realize I needed and it instantly become one of my favorite Brand New songs.

 

15 minutes by car? Because if that was by foot that would amazing to be able to walk to the venue all the time

 

I was listening to Daisy and I nodded off cuz I just had a big lunch and I got cozy in my bed during You Stole. I woke up right before the intro to Daisy and I coulda sworn I was listening to Science Fiction

also no i dont know how i napped through Sink that shit shoulda woke me up

 

It's been mentioned a couple times.

I feel like that was leading in a more punky direction and could have crested a song that was a mix of YFW and the new sound. I really wish it was made into a song.

I listened to Science Fiction like 10 times yesterday and 5 times this morning.

Listened to YFW as I slept last night so that was a little break but decided to give a little break again. Don't want to run the album dry by listening to it too much in such a short period of time (doubt I would anyway, but sometimes it's nice to switch things up)

This is pretty funny, but true. I was late to the party with Daisy (and Brand New in general) so i first heard that song in 2013, and I thought that guitar riff was so cool. I am very happy that they incorporated more of that style into fully realized songs on this record.
