I had forgotten who our president was up until just now. These past 24 hours I've been in some wonderful, euphoric state of mind. Thank you Brand New, even if it was only for just a day.

 

Lit me up is honestly stunning tho how dare they start an album off this good

 

I need more songs like 451 from Brand New. It's incredible. Love the vibe, I could take a whole album gull of 451s

 

Probably their best opening track to date. Really not even a close competition either I'd argue.

 

Nah, Riot Fest for a single day is like $70 I think? Their show will cost that much regardless. But regardless, I was just joking/sharing my own fantasy. I'm sure their last show will be their own standalone event.

 

Is there anyone who's listened and was let down by the record or even straight-out doesn't like it? Not trying to castigate someone for holding a different opinion than mine, just genuinely curious because it seems like every single comment has been pretty glowing.

Personally, I will admit that I didn't think they had this in them. I was doubtful that the record would ever surface, even more doubtful that it would hold water to their previous material, and still more doubtful that it would be something I'd be interested in given how my tastes have changed in the last eight years. The "Brand New is now a merch company" jokes have been pretty funny over the last few years, but I think it's abundantly clear now that they truly have been meticulously working on this record for a very long time.

Kinda hope they quit after this one honestly. What a way to go out.

 

Ok so I had checked myUSPS twice yesterday and once today and it said I had nothing coming my way.

But I just got a text from my building that I just got a USPS package. Not expecting anything else. I am kinda flipping out.

 

The bassline in "Lit Me Up" is sooo good.

 

I really hope I get one of those packages but I'm in California so I probably wouldn't get it until like Monday, if at all

 

There have been a few brave souls throughout this thread that have admitted to not liking it. They just get drowned out pretty quick by the next 99 people who are praising it.

 

So I've been reading these posts sporadically over the last couple days. But now I'm gonna sit down and read all 168 pages and counting. 'Cause I love y'all and I wanna hear what y'all have to say. I've heard the album twice now (once on speakers w/ the only friends who "understand" and once on nice headphones) and I obviously love (and still processing) what I heard.

Any guesses on how long it's gonna take to read these 168 pages...and counting?

 

Good for them haha. We're definitely an echo chamber in here but I feel like we're a fairly grounded one still

the guitar tone of the riff in the 2nd verse of Out of Mana reminds me so much of METN

If you're wondering if this is a good album for a long drive through low mountains, the answer is yes.
