Listened to it 2.5 times so far. Pretty good, will for sure be a grower for me. About 4 songs instantly stick out to me, the rest I'll need time to appreciate. "No Control" seems largely uninspired and the closing track is a bit anticlimactic, but like I said, perhaps it will grow on me.

 

Sapone was more of a member than him tbh

Yea I was listening to Devil & God on Spotify, then I opened the download I got with my vinyl pre-order which played through my computer. That's how I listened to both at the same time.

 

I've had this album on repeat since 5:30am. Waking up for work sucks but music helps haha

 

Yea it won't happen, but it could work. They'd be the headliner, so they'd still get to play a long show, and that way pretty much anyone who wanted to go could.

Haven't listened to the leak yet, but sonically, which album is this one closest too?

 

See, I like the idea of a lot of fans being able to go to but Riot Fest is really expensive and they would probably make that specific year even more expensive because they know people would pay for Brand New's final show.

 

Demos meets the softer parts of Daisy.

 

I find it a mix of Deja and a brand new sound.

A lot of the album feels like a softer Deja to me.

Hate to be that guy, but comparing it to any other album would be unfair. It's a completely new sound, although it does have part of that southern gothic rock thing that Daisy had going on.

 

Imagine there were two ways to progress from Devil and God. One was to takes its chaotic parts and double down on them. That became Daisy. Now imagine they decided to double down on the softer parts instead. That's essentially what Science Fiction is. Though I'd say it's tone and mood is more akin to Daisy.

 

Right on. I'm glad to hear that they are expanding with their sound and not just repeating another one of their albums. But I've come to expect new things from the band with each release.

 

throw in a lot of blues/folk influence (i guess that could be implied with 'softer') and yeah, that's about right.

 

Yea. Though I think that comes from Daisy a little bit. I view this album not as a progression from Daisy but as a lateral move.

 

Literally the same. I usually wake up around 8 for my 8:45 train. I can make it until 8:30 if pushing it. My girlfriend takes the dog out around 6:45. Wakes me up, but I go back to sleep. This time I just put on headphones and stayed in bed. Lit Me Up was such a trip.
