i'm looking forward to cruz's big showing in the northeast tonight, as foretold by clucky

Gotta love how when he won in Wisconsin you were conspicuously absent from this thread.

I said he'd win wisconsin(which isn't in the northeast btw). it's an all white state with an incumbent republican governor. trump wins where there are big urban areas, where he can play on racial tension and perceived failures of democrats.

This is the internet. Actual facts don't matter. Just convince everyone that "the system is rigged and the media lies to you", and then you can believe whatever conspiracy you want!

People can certainly be pro-Clinton and also be dicks. But situations like this scream false flag to me, especially when Trump supporters have so much invested in trying to ensure Sanders supporters don't vote for Clinton in the general election. (or, are just trolls seeking to cause havok with no further goals in mind)

I'm not getting into this with you again. I feel like Cruz has certainly shown the "momentum" I originally talked about and has won a far broader set of states than Trump. Is it enough to get him the nomination? Probably not. But its not like he's under performed giving how radical his positions are either.

where trump runs well and doesn't run well has been evident for months. that's been the determining factor in every race, not whatever momentum you keep attributing to individual, isolated contests. cruz was always going to get buried in the majority of states remaining, that's why i said he was not on the verge of some big surge. how things have played out were how they were always going to play out.

Just voted for Bernie in PA. Too bad it doesn't look like Hillary can be stopped now.

Didn't even know there was a town hall last night, but this statement by Hillary is pretty terrible. Saying things like this is not how you persuade Sanders supporters to vote for you.

Clinton changes her position on an issue: "Look at Hillary pandering for votes!"

Clinton refuses to change her positions on an issue: "This isn't how you persuade people to vote for you!"

Trump projected to win PA and CT. Clinton wins MD. Not surprising.

  14. I mean, simply stating that she has more votes that Sanders isn't enough to persuade them to vote for her. As a Sanders supporter, she did nothing to convince me to follow her if (when) she is the nominee. The only specific she has is to go after the shadow banking industry but I'm betting that 90% of all Sanders supporters don't believe or expect her to do shit about Wall Street.

Sorry, but her answer to that question was bad.

Her argument, at least to me, came across as "More people have voted for me and my positions, so I am more beholden to the people who voted for me than the people who didn't".

She isn't saying "You should vote for me simply because I have more votes". She is saying her platform is the one chosen by the party and Sanders supporters can take it or leave it. Do you think that if Sanders won he would have to change his positions to try and get Clinton supporters to vote for him?

  17. I get being beholden to those that voted for her. That's fair. But what will she or what should she do to appeal to the millions of Sanders supporters? Votes aside, they're almost tied in national polls right now. She's going to have to do something to win them over, and I didn't feel like her answer to the question helped her to do that. I get that there's still plenty of time before November but she's got a lot of work to do to unify the party.

I'm at the point of exhaustion from this campaign that as long as Trump or Cruz is not the president, it doesn't matter to me anymore on who is better, Hillary or Bernie, because the other side is just that horrifying to me.

I mean, at this point, it's not really a good idea for her to try and pretend she's further left than Sanders because everyone knows it's not true. She will end up looking further left than she probably is once we get to the general election and she's dealing with Trump and his rhetoric.

She won Delaware. Bummer. I was letting anecdotal evidence get to me from all my friends on FB thinking maybe Sanders would pull off a surprise.

They might be tied nationally, but a larger percentage would still support either candidate (PA exit polls have Clinton at 61% "definitely vote for her in the general election", 22% "probably" and 15% "not vote for her". Sanders is 55/24/18).

I think there are definitely steps she could take to help win over Sanders supporters (releasing transcripts would probably be a good start), but any move she makes to try and win over Sanders supporters could lose her support on the other end.

I argue with him on voting but yeah I don't think anyone's really tried to argue that Hillary is a good person overall. She's a slimeball power hungry politician just like Bill.

Bernie now up 3% in CT. Looks pretty good. And a healthy lead in RI. Needs to make it close in PA, let's see what happens.
