This feels like such a "grown up" Brand New to me. I love how they grow up and don't make the same album over and over.

"Same Logic/Teeth", "In the Water", and "Waste" are my current favorites.

 

"In The Water", another jaw dropper. The next four songs can be complete duds and this would remain an incredible record.

BTW, just want to say as someone who mostly lurks that it's days like this where I really love this board and this community of posters. Going back to read through this earlier today to when the news started leaking out until now is enthralling.

Oh yeah, this album is excellent too. 147 and Same Logic/Teeth are my jams.

Cannot believe people are suggesting with a straight face that this tops TDAG after what, six hours? It may end up being better eventually, but saying stuff like that so soon is just absurd.

 

I've told people for years that Vin is my favorite guitarist of all time, this album has some serious riffage. 137, Out Of Mana, 451 are absolute bangers. I'm so glad this album exists, I got legit chills about three times through listening. The flashback to Daisy at the end of "In The Water" had me so hype and caught in a paralyzing flashback of images/memories in my head of the person I was when I first heard that line from Daisy many years ago to the person I am today hearing it again for another first time. With that synth pad and the "7 years, 7 years" in the background it hit me like holy crap life has flew by and that was chilling to hear // "And we sing this morning, that wonderful and grand old message, I don't know about you but I never get tired of hearing it"

 

Have a little brother with the same name, can confirm that this guy is just wrong on every level.

Nope my face is completely straight. And I like Daisy more than TDAG anyway.

 

I haven't heard it yet but TDAG is my favorite album of all time, so like, this could theoretically supplant it eventually, but it would probably be a matter of years and mean I have a new favorite album of all time. So unlikely, haha.

That being said, I don't really even need to listen to know it's better than YFW. Ha.

 

Yea, let's wait a few weeks before saying it's their best. But it's really great music

 

so is this hitting streaming services tomorrow or are they pulling a t swizzle since they know their fans are crazy and will buy it?

TDAG is in a three way tie for my favorite album of all time. my first listen to this left me feeling the way i felt the first time i heard TDAG. cant believe its the same band, hearing things i never thought theyd do, being crushed emotionally just from the music, etc.

 

really wish the song at the end of No Control was a full song.
