I just remembered this Blink-182 covers EP that I did a few years ago. Peep it if you're bored, haha.

 

Aside from the videos being the best of the California era, HISALP was pretty much a dud of a single, huh? Don't think it ever cracked the top 30 on alt stations. Would've like to have seen a late-night performance on one of the talk shows, too. Bummer.

 

They waited too long to release it IMO

 

They did not push the single at all, it was a bit odd. They never played it live, they never did a late night show performance, and I never even heard it on the radio.

 

I really wish I got to hear it live.

 

Yeah, the one (admittedly garbage) alt station in Boston never played it. Did find it very odd they never played it live.

 

I just don't think it appealed to mainstream radio like Sober would have.

 

I think I heard it once or twice on the radio, granted I almost never listen to the radio anyway, but I think they the way they released both SOOHM and HISALP was really odd, I thought they waited way too long to release both and also them not playing SOOHM live outside of one or two times during their first California Tour run and not playing HISALP at all is just really weird.

And yes I agree I think Sober should have been the 3rd single pushed, then HISALP if the album still had legs.

 

The Brand New LP5-thread is like a black hole right now. Not even light can get out.

 

My gf had the idea once of dressing as tumbleweed for a costume party. Whenever someone does a bad joke you do a cartwheel in front of them.

Problem is, we hate costume parties.

The fact that those are the first four tracks on the album leads me to believe he just said "fuck it" after making that much process and labeled it an EP

 

Tom's voice in those renditions sound especially goofy. I don't understand why he decided to try to not sound nasally and then you get this. There are already acoustic tracks of some of these songs out there from the time and they sound way better.
