Saw these at a local store. ALMOST ALMOSTTTTTTTT decided not to pay bills this month. Lol

Also saw a copy of Into The Unknown the same day too. It was the bootleg, but even that's rare!

I met a guy who owns a copy (Rob Moran from Unbroken/Some Girls), but that's as close as I've ever come.

I concur with the reissue of the month, or a rundown and release date for stuff that's set to go on sale. It'd help out a lot of people that may not frequent this thread, or vinyl websites in general.

Have you listened to the newest "Turned Out a Punk" podcast? Davey is on it and it's quite an interesting listen.

Do you understand how stupid we sound? Getting excited over HOLDING a record or TALKING to someone who has one. Haha

Naw, but Davey's always a cool interview. Super cool dude that always surprises people by his answers to things and how much he knows and remembers stuff.

    I'll check it out!

It's all really silly when you think about it.

I've been trying real hard to not put too much thought into it anymore. Just enjoy records for what they are.

I'd be lying though if I said it didn't make me cringe a bit when my girlfriend told me she was listening to my copy of "Something to Write Home About" the other day. It hasn't come out of the sleeve since I got it.

My girlfriend is stIll TERRIFIED to touch anything, after 3 years. I ask her to pick up the hammer on my turntable every so often if I'm doing something. She just says 'NOPE. DON'T KNOW HOW. NOPE.' Even though I've shown her a dozen times and she's seen me do it a million. She can't break anything just lifting the hammer! Lol

Bought a Spin Clean today to see how it works. So far so good.

It's not perfect, but I definitely notice a difference on records that aren't too beat up. image.jpeg

@Drew Beringer To expand on my yes. As much as I like Chorus for news honestly having some actual articles about something other than so and so is on tv will bring me more interest to the front page.

    Need some troubleshooting, friends.

I didn't have a chance to spin any records yesterday, but this morning I decided that I wanted to spin my RSD Star Wars picture disc. I put it on there, and the tone arm felt a little off, took longer to lower the needle, but maybe it's something to do with the record being smaller.

Anyway, the record was extreme static, a hum and buzz that overwhelmed the sound of the music.

Worried, I switched out the record for my pressing of Deja, and the static was still extremely prominent in a way it hadn't been a couple of days ago.

I live in Florida, so not much static in the air. We did have a small storm last night, power went out.

I'm just trying to figure out what changed and why my setup sounds like crap now.

Maybe a ground issue? I'm not sure if it's internally grounded or not.

Picture discs are almost always going to have surface noise, but anything more than that I'm not sure what it could be.

Unplug it and plug it back in? I always recommend using a surge protector with your turntable and amp. Never plug it directly into the wall.

Thanks! I'll double check my grounding. I believe it's grounded from preamp to the turntable. As to which outlet everything is plugged into, I'll have to double check. I know I'm using a surge protection device, but one thing in my set up in directly plugged into the wall.

I agree. Check the ground. If it's an audible hum the ground may have come loose from the post. Also, if you have a ground post on the preamp and a ground post on the receiver switch them out (if the cord will reach) and see which one works best.
Static would not make hum/buzz overwhelm the music. Static may cause some pops here and there but that should be it...

Also, check to see if you've got any radio frequency interference.
If you have a lot of electronics running in/around the turntable that may cause an audible buzz.
Example: We have a dimmer switch controlled light in our living room. That thing can sometimes cause a CRAZY RF interference hum when I'm playing records.
So check it out again with no TV, computer, etc. on and see if it kills the hum.

Got the Ride The Lightning repress and picked up some MoFi sleeves.

I felt stupid cleaning all my 'coveted' older albums yesterday (Bowie, Doors, Zeppelin, Cooper) just to put them in the 30 or 40 year old paper inner sleeves. image.jpg

That KOL pressing is great. The best of the bunch, IMO.
