Deja is the best to me and it's not very close aside from demos. Totally agree with spo on Daisy. It's v bad. Mene, Nightmare, and the 4 reworked demos have satiated my post 2006 hunger for new Brand New so much more than Daisy did.

YFW hate has gone too far. There are bad lyrics on it (but not all of it!!) and I get that some want to decry all things pop punk but I'd argue it's not really a pop punk album and the good material on it is very good (as good or better than most of TDAG tbtotallyh!!!). Most of it would probably not have resonated with me if I wasn't in my formative musical years when it came out, but at the same time I have a hard time understanding how someone can hear Handcuffs or Be Gone or any other number of mediocre later period BN tracks and shit on stuff like Logan to Government Center or Sudden Death in Carolina or Soco.

Then again I remember Deja coming out and basically breaking this site and now come here and see how so many here slag it as not only inferior to TDAG but wildly so and it all comes into focus, I guess. I swear I remember that album being kinda disappointing as the Deja followup to most here (myself included) on release. It is obviously very good, but I am just so weirded out but the notion that it is the only great thing they ever did.

 

Also curious how this limited editor or whatever is going to differ from the standard release.

 

I still don't believe the record is coming and I just spent 50 bucks on it

 

I can't wait to cancel my order as soon as they announce the details of what will most likely be underwhelming and still super vague

 

The ones in San Francisco are closing down and they're marking down TV's like it's no ones business! This is great for me cause I need a new tv

Assuming it gets a standard pressing. (I'd be surprised if it doesnt, but someone on another forum who works at a record store said they reached out and "retail has nothing and the label isn't responding to inquiry, so the band site is the only source right now")

Yeah, I honestly think I only missed it by a few seconds possibly. When I had attempted to purchase, the site was there and I was able to hit the buy button. The checkout dialog box popped up with the order total and shipping options but by the time I hit checkout, it said some of the items I wanted were no longer available.

How long did they go back up for after they sold out initially? Just curious because I placed my order and haven't looked since. Did everyone get a copy who wanted one?

 

I'm here to confess my shame, once I was able to add to cart I just checked out, put in my credit card number and didn't even look how much this thing was costing me lol.

 

It's like that scene in Community where Troy goes to get the pizza from downstairs and when he gets back, the apartment is on fire and the troll is just standing there looking at him. Maniacally. Except the troll is Brand New.

 

I'm hoping between my wife and I trying, we can manage. But we tried that for Radiohead, too, and didn't have any luck. Might take you up on that.

 

And literally all we know is that it's Brand New, it's shipping in October, it's very limited, and something will be downloadable in "June."
