I am incredibly interested to see the upcoming voting for METN. So many of those songs are classics and so well done, it will be a tough one. Looking forward to hearing people's opinions

 

That's the one that I honestly can't begin to predict a winner for. My personal favorite is "The River"

Pride has been such an incredible opener for so many years, but the emotional pull of The River is so strong and overwhelming.

I'm still dying to figure out what that first line in In My Teeth means.

There ain't a bad song in that album.

 

Shake It Out is probably the only track I'd give the label 'classic'. Controversial!

 

Later wolves, but damn that's a special album, really didn't want to vote out any songs the whole time

 

I still haven't listened to METN all the way through, haha.

I don't feel too bad then. It's one of my favourite songs by them. Probably top 5. It's funny though because I know everyone loves METN a lot but I just find the second half of the album (minus the closer) to be flat and a bit bland. Looking forward to seeing how this vote progresses.

 

The only stretch that I don't think is full of 10.0 songs is Marcus and Tony, however I think they are like 8.5 and 8.0 songs so they really don't drag the album down too much for me

 

Totally understandable. I'd include Everything to Nothing in that and on a good day wouldn't rate them more than 6.5! I like the album overall but as I said, I find those three a bit bland and they drag a bit. Maybe it's that I've never connected with the lyrics in the way that I can with Shake It Out or I Can Feel A Hot One...?

What is it that you like about the songs that you would give them an 8/8.5? Just out of interest - I do respect we all have different opinions and tastes.

 

Tony's lyrics are really good, it tells a cool little story, and I love the bass groove that is going throughout the song. Also the live version from park ave, where andy belts the "I know you think you know, but you probably dont" makes the song so much better for me haha, wish he did that on the record. And Marcus just has a killer chorus haha, also that one has those real subtle dark lyrics.

A decade after first hearing this album, I've realized that I enjoy I Can Barely Breathe more than the other two remaining. Voted for Where Have You Been.

 

I voted for I Can Barely Breathe. That decision wasn't tough. Where Have You Been? Vs. Colly will be tough if that's the finals!

 

I decided to go with Where Have You Been, because while I do love the song the live version of I Can Barely Breathe is just SO great that it edges out a bit. Both phenomenal songs.

"Because if seeing is believing, then believe that we have lost our eyes" is one of my all-time favorite lines. Long live I Can Barely Breathe.

 

Great line. And the delivery! Brilliant.

 

It is currently a 3-way tie, this will be a battle to the death. I figured these would be the last 3, but I wonder what the last 3 will end up being in METN
