Dalton is in gimmick purgatory. Its a fantastic gimmick, but its difficult to play it on a grand scale. I think the trios titles were a good move for them, but I don't think it should be very long term.

As a whole, ROH is kind of a bummer right now. The things I look forward to most are NJPW guys at their shows. Kushida, Jay White, Kenny, and Ishii are the guys I am really tuning into ROH for. Other than that, we don't get a ton of 'must see' wrestling, Young Bucks withstanding.

 

And the sky is blue bro, we know

 

I feel Dalton could open up a whole new avenue with a heel turn. He's obviously a creative dude, I think that could push him even higher with more possibilities.

 

I don't even watch ROH, but if Punishment gets a title shot, I will give up on wrestling as a whole.

Yeah, the only thing that's really exciting about ROH now is pretty much the NJPW guys showing up. Everything else is just meh. I hope they can turn it around though.

 

I was thinking about that. He's great in ring and is a hilarious promo, but it just doesn't work for me other than a one off.

 

With Beretta moving to the heavyweight scene in NJPW, maybe a run in ROH as a singles guy could help him?

I'm curious as to who the promo that was ran at the G1 is for. My initial thought is Jay White, but I'm not sure.

 

My guess is Sami Calihan.

 

I'd be down with that, didn't even know he was rumored to be doing things with NJPW.

 

My money is on Jay White as well. I'd be surprised if they did something like that for a total outsider/newcomer unless it was a major name.

 

I actually read into a speculation thread where they dissected the video and it seemed to lean in that direction. The book in the video had something to do with American something or other. He is the only guy who kinda fits that video. Other guesses were Jimmy Havoc and Crazy Steve.

Bone Soldier was also mentioned and it is def him.
