i have to imagine there will be regional events, there is no point in making it literally impossible to "catch them all" unless you're able to spoof your location or travel abroad as needed

 

That's how I've always felt, but I didn't realize there were people out there that actually feel like there's some kind of pride in having something that other people in the world don't have.... You know how bummed I would be about people in Europe getting a Tauros? Not at all.

 

I thought that trading would solve this once its inevitably introduced, because when they released Pokemon Red/Blue initially, there were different pokemon exclusive to each game and you had to trade with friends to get them all, and I thought thats kinda what they were maybe doing here

but uh....

I dont have any friends in europe.......or asia.....or australia....

 

Just caught a 96% Zapdos so I'm pretty fucking happy right now. 2/3 for the day.

Also caught a 2200CP Blissey today on my lunch break with the help of the local live map. Shit IV's but hey a Blissey is a Blissey.

 

Who needs good IVs when your entire purpose is to be a punching bag

Got a 96% Quilava from a raid today and finally evolved for my first Typhlosion. I think that's my highest IV I have now.

 

I think I'm at a point where I'm pretty satisfied with the game. My only two complaints are that I wish there was an easier way to get stardust and there was any incentive at all to keep your guys in the gym. I've almost considered starting a new account and leveling it to a like a 20 and have it be a different team than my main account just so I can knock my guys out to get a guaranteed 50 coins per day.

I had a Vaporeon just returned to me that sat at a gym for 21 days and got no coins for it because I had already gotten my 50 for the day. That was pretty annoying

 

The game is all about where you live. I can see like 9 different gyms from my house and they all turn over every few hours. Once and while one might hold for a full 5 hours.

 

I live in a fairly midsized town so it works out pretty well on keeping it in the gym long enough to get coins but sometimes they end up staying for too long and getting me nothing lol.

 

Finally got to do my first Zapdos raid. Took it down super easy, I only lost one mon. Didn't catch it though.

 

Although I haven't personally benefited from it, I've noticed that anytime a raid is going on at one of the gyms at this park near my house, whoever is there lures the fuck out of the stops. Pretty smart way of letting people know "Yes, there are players here. It's worth coming here."

 

Great, another raid i'll never be able to participate in. haha. But really, that's so damn cool.

 

this just seems annoying, why not just make it like the rest of the bird raids, it's not like they were all easy to do every time, theres still challenge involved. they clearly want to get Gen 1 over with which makes me excited that soon I'll probably have a chance to get regionals, but "exclusive" raids seems unnecessary.

 

I just read what you have to get in order to play in a Mewtwo raid and it confirms that Niantic is ran by the biggest fucking idiots on the planet.

 

I don't know why I still play this game tbh

 

I'm still playing it just to complete the gen I and II pokedex. After that I'm done. The later gens are not worth Niantic's stupidity and I'm not giving them another penny.

 

Niantic should know the phrase is "Gotta catch 'em all" not "Gotta buy 'em all"

 

yeah I agree - i stopped playing the games after silver and gold anyway, so once i have all of that, i'm much less inclined to continue because idk any of the later gen pokemon

also agree that niantic is absolutely the worst

 

Catching mewtwo sounds so damn complicated

 

Yeah, I'm probably doing the same. The total refusal to acknowledge rural players is insane. I will simply never have the ability to join these massive raids with any regularity.

And when I say rural, I don't mean, like, middle-of-nowhere Montana or something. I'm in a pretty major suburban area! The vast majority of their players must be frustrated...

 

Saw youtube videos where players in Japan were earning 50 premiere balls to catch Mewtwo and it's CP was insane.

 

they also seem to completely disregard anyone who works a normal 9-5/6pm work day

having raids completely end at 7pm is ridiculous

the game has been a lot of fun but not without mindnumbingly frustrating experiences.

 

The rules for Mewtwo sound really obnoxious and unnecessary. I'm glad there's a second chance to get Articuno though.
