That Smiling Man story will now be in my head every time I take a late night walk, awesome.

 

I saw a pastor do that one time in person. I look back on it and laugh, probably chuckled a little when it happened too. I wish I understood the thought process behind it.

Man, the more I think about that, the more I feel like I was watching a cult in progress. All those teenagers standing around the guy with their heads bowed.

 

My wife works at a hotel so she gets free rooms from time to time. Sometimes when we will just use one at another location in town and go swimming and just not be home for a day. Well one time we stayed at one and I guess there was some cheerleading competition in town so the hotel was fully booked with people from around the country. At like 3 am a person knocks on our door and is trying to get in. It was a young girl with a glazed over look on her face. She kept pounding and then would go away. So after it was quiet for a while I stuck my head out and looked right and there was nothing. I turn the other direction and she is literally in my face telling me to open the door. We called security. Turns out she had a mental disability and snuck out of her room and couldn't remember where it was. The worst part was that we found out she had to spend the entire night in the lobby with a police officer because she couldn't tell the front desk what room she was supposed to be in and the parents didn't even know she was gone until they woke up in the morning.

It's basically a collection of short, creepy and unsettling videos narrated documentary style. The last one is fucking crazy but the one about the witch is the creepiest. The Madman of The Crossroads is pretty good too.

My friends and I were visiting the Outer Banks in North Carolina on vacation and we had been sitting in the hot tub for a few hours at our house, discussing random stuff. I began to see weird spinning lights in the sky above us every so often, ducking in and out of the clouds. This was 2012 so drones were not nearly as common, and they were swooping in and out of view so quickly that I doubt that's what it was. Sometimes the lights would be white, sometimes red. To this day I still don't know what it was.

 

I just randomly decided to pop into this thread and this post was one of the first things I noticed and I just felt compelled to quote you and say I legitimately hate you for making me aware of that.

Like I'm in bed at 3 in the morning gently tapping on syncope's door because of you. Specifically you. Seriously I hate you.

It's something I've never quite understood. I was raised a Christian, still am and still attend a church but I'm very liberal when it comes to lifestyle/beliefs and I'll be completely honest and say that speaking in tongues weirds me out and it usually makes me feel uncomfortable when I see somebody do it. I have several friends who do it and it always throws me off but they only do it when they're in like, deep spiritual prayer. It's not like we're just chilling and they start speaking in tongues haha. I've seen my girlfriend do it quietly under her breath a few times when she prays during a really emotional situation, but yeah, I really can't explain it. I don't think it's a bad thing or scary, although I can see how it could come off as cultish, like when it's done by a preacher in front of an audience. It's a spiritual gift, but obviously if you aren't a spiritual person then it doesn't make any sense and looks pretty fucking scary, especially when the person is really loud and obvious.

 

I've seen it in a Baptist setting which like your girlfriend it was kind of quiet and not a huge spectacle. I experienced it in a Pentecostal setting as well and it scared me so badly I never went back. I just remembered panicking and debating with myself if I should run out or stick it out lol I stayed but I think it really scarred me. It was while people were in deep prayer and not like it just happened out of nowhere at random times. For some people that's just a normal thing for them but I'd prefer to not experience it ever again.

Do you remember which town in the Outer Banks? I lived there as a park ranger for six months, and now you've got me curious as to where exactly you saw this.

 

We were in Corolla. Mainly just housing with a few stores peppered in.

I would start with his Seriously Strange series. Twisted 10's and the serial killer files are spin offs of SS. It's all good but he's been branching out with different video ideas a lot here lately.

 

I've heard of pretty much every serial killer but not this one. I'm so freaked out right now.

 

There's still a little daylight so I'm delving into that vid.

Not as creeped out as I thought I'd be. It's crazy to think he was on the loose for a year. Think of all the people he might have crossed paths with who never knew what he did.
