Defiant Guam sounds like a punk band from the 80s

I think he's referring to the 16 million who voted for her and claiming that they chose her over melanchon as if they're the same but like I said earlier that's very untrue.

There you have it, two flake opponents including ward to primary him. Seems like he's vulnerable as hell.

The idea that was pushed during the election that Meloncon could have gotten more voters who went Le Pen because of 'economic anxiety'. Turns out, the xenophobia appealed to them more.

    That's not what I said.

  11. Melenchon never ran head to head against Le Pen so unless you're looking at some ranked choice data you'd like to share I think you're talking out of your ass

I know he didnt...he still went against her in the first round of voting, and she still got more votes than he did.

If it was really the economic anxiety driving them to vote for Le Pen, then they could have chosen the much better candidate in Melenchon...they didn't.

Obviously he would have got all the center left votes had he made it to the runoff...but the leftists couldn't even get him out of the first round. If the policies were that popular, more people would have voted for them.

Hopefully, more people do so in 2022.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

All these latest Trump quotes about what he's going to do if NK hits Guam are EXACTLY like when one of my kids does something so surprising, I have no idea what discipline is necessary. "You licked WHAT and put it in your brother's cereal? Well well well, here we go...I, uh...you're going to see punishment like no kid has ever seen before! I'm going to take away your Kindle for a WHOLE day!" (waits for tears) "3 days!" (still no tears) "A WEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!" (balling) "Ok ok ok calm down, here's your Kindle..."

  14. No, man, if the candidate were more popular, more people would have voted for him. A lot more goes into voters decisions than just the candidates' proposed policies, why do I even have to type that sentence we all know it. This is dumb. He lost the runoff by like 1.7%. And even if he got no votes at all, it doesn't change the validity of the slogan.

Talking to liberals about voting is like talking to conservatives about economics. The latter asays "if they wanted more money, they should have worked harder". The former says "if they wanted to win, they should have gotten more votes". In each case, it is completely abstracted from the material/ideological realities.

  18. Gee, David doesn't see how neoliberal third-wayism leads to right wing power. Shocker

Man, it's going to be dope when Macron is the French Reagan and hollows out the welfare state and unions, and loses in 2022. People will just be like "I didn't realize people were so racist".

I see how it's a factor...I do get a kick out of the leftists who can't accept that their way-ism isn't as popular as they think it is and can't accept that their own failures to win an election also contribute to it.

And also the blind spot idea that the 'right' economic populist stances will turn racist white voters back from the brink of endorsing fascism.

If Macron were the French Reagan, he'd win in 2022, and then a more moderate version of him would win in 2028 and get roasted by both the left and the right.
