That sounds vaguely familiar... I think I heard that when I was younger. It might have something to do with being the child of immigrants in my case.

Well, actually, y'all bc that' how contraction work. But I only say that on the www

some people in SC had different meanings for "y'all", "y'alls", and "all y'all". it was bizarre

 

You guys but I've been trying to shift to y'all cause it's more gender inclusive (not to mention less unwieldy)

 

a lot of people up here will say "i seen" in place of "I've seen" or even "I saw".

ex: "i seen two deer on the side of the road on my way to work today"

I seen is just bad grammar.

 

Y'all is the correct spelling.

 

the worst grammar and i cringe when i hear it (which is quite often)

 

I say y'all tbh. or ye.

"i seen" would have come from a language spoken over here and evolved over time in america. a lot of ways we irish would talk would sound like bad grammar to americans, but it's us taking how we talk in irish and melding it to the english language.
