That is a picture of a water fountain.

I'm from that weird portion of the country that refers to all sodas as Coke, then clarifies which one you want.

 

Oh yeah plain = sauce, dough, and cheese, like... Plain, it's plain.

Also I've only heard pop with my Midwest friends and that's a water fountain it doesn't even make bubbles!!

 

So like....a mountain dew coke?

 

oh god some people in South Carolina did that and it always confused the fuck out of me

 

We call everything coke here.

 

This is bizarre but I wonder if it's a byproduct of the ubiquity of coke or of the fact that coca cola owns most recognizable sodas?

 

Plain.

Soda.

Also, in CT, we don't use "sub" or "hoagie" when referring to that kind of sandwich. We call it a grinder.

 

yeah, that's what we call them. not just some of us, everyone from wisconsin.

Cheese pizza, soda, water/drinking fountain. Clearly midwest here.

 

Wisconsin is weird. Especially because that seems to be a uniquely Wisconsin thing.

Enfield, about 20-30 minutes north of Hartford off I-95. Moved to Philly for college in 2012 and been here ever since. Though I still go home to CT a few times a year for holidays and breaks and whatnot.

ct is interesting because we're so close to nyc and boston that we have different colloquialisms for things depending on what part of the state youre in. i grew up calling them meatball grinders but other sandwiches are subs.

Yeah I know where Milford is. And I actually have a ton of family from Granby as well.

(sidenote Im sure they'd agree with calling it backwoods shit)

It certainly helps that Coke is headquartered in Atlanta and has a huge office here in Knoxville on the regional usage, I'd imagine. I don't necessarily think it's the best way to do it (soda over pop, though), but it's the way I always have.

 

I try to cause that's how I was raised but it's so constantly subs/hoagie here that it's hard to maintain
