Did a Croconaw raid this morning and took it down literally within 30 seconds without losing a single pokemon, and I was rewarded with 1x golden razz berry and 2x revives. So while you guys are all off enjoying legendary raids, catching 'em & getting rare candies & TM's, spare a thought for ur ol' buddy PBear

 

Got my first legendary bird today (Zapdos). I was kinda frustrated with legendaries after doing like ten raids and only catching one Lugia but I guess it's worth it anyway for the TM's and rare candy.

Edit: caught 3 out of 4 Zapdos today

 

Tried a Zapdos raid with 13 ppl from our slack group. Critical catch on my 3rd ball. Easiest legendary catch yet. Almost everyone else in the group caught it as well. Figures instinct has the stink bird.

 

I'd love if they did CP based on number of people in the raid, so solo players have a shot.

 

Yeah Zapdos has been very easy. 6/8 now

0/0. Hopefully I get home tonight before Raids close. Also did anyone else notice that they've stopped having the eggs for like an hour before raids? They just start now.

 

Raleigh, NC haha. There's like 10 Zapdos raids in the city at any given time

Yeah that started when Legendaries started.

 

Zapdos is caught. Stings that I couldn't get Articuno, haha. Still need a Lugia

 

Hoping to get Zapdos tonight - I have to imagine the expired legendaries will come back every so often for like weekend events.

 

Annnnnnd 0/1. And it's supposed to rain the rest of the week here. Plus interest dies down as the week goes on as everyone catches one. Hopefully I get another chance.

 

If anyone is having trouble actually catching legendaries after you take them down, this hint might help. I read about it online and after practicing in the wild, I find it really does help with catching legendaries.

The trick is using the time that the pokemon attacks you to your advantage. Note that holding down the pokeball makes the little circle get smaller, but if you let go of the ball and re-start, the circle re-starts at the size you left it. SO if you hold down the pokeball until the circle is almost at it's smallest, and then let go... the next time you click it, the circle will be at it's smallest. Do this, and then wait... and wait... for the pokemon to attack. When the pokemon attack's, the circle doesn't appear, so right when the attack starts, start spinning the ball and then quickly throw it. The attack will end when the ball is mid-air, and if you have good aim, it will hit the pokemon when the circle zone is very small.

That might not make much sense, but there are videos on YouTube if you need visual aid. Worked well for me, might help some of you!

 

Gotta say it feels much less disappointing hatching a Mantine out of a 5K instead of a 10K. Still disappointing lol but I'll take what I can get.

I'm 2/4 on Lugia, 0/2 on Articuno. 9/12(!!!!) on Zapdos, never did a Moltres raid.

I did 13 raids today after not doing any for two weeks, pretty excessive haha but I had to make up for lost time. I totally go through phases with this game.

 

I definitely go through phases too, and I'm currently in a lull due to bad weather and only needing one realistically obtainable pokemon - Miltank. So frustrating to hatch 5k after 5k to then finally get a 10k to find the pokemon it contains obviously isn't the 2nd rarest possible 10k hatch and you've then got to repeat the process all over again.

 

I feel ya, I've burned through tons of eggs I didn't need trying to get an Aerodactyl, but my excitement has kind of gone away with the legendaries coming out. Now that I know I'm not going to be able to catch everything available to me, why bother lol

 

I got super lucky yesterday with Zapdos raids. I had to go to a teacher training at a college in my town that has tons of stops and gyms and there were literally 4 Zapdos raids going on. I texted in the local chat and let them know about the Zapdos raids and that I was going on lunch at 11. 10 people came and waited for me to go on lunch. Literally hit four Zapdos raids in about 45 minutes. Ended up catching two out of the four. Then another Zapdos raid showed up at the gym literally a one minute walk from my house. Texted in the chat letting everyone know, but honestly didn't think anyone would show up because I kind of live far away from the "action." 24 people ended up showing up and caught it again. Then on lunch today hit up two more Zapdos raids and caught one of them. So, I've currently got 4 Zapdos out of 7 attempts. Not too bad.

Didn't have as much luck with Moltres though. Looked at my dex and I only caught 2 out of 12 attempts.

 

Gooooooot it. 1/3 on Zapdos. And got enough rare candies for Ampharos too!

Just need to hatch a Togepi and evolve it and catch an unknown and Lugia now.

I just wish North America would get one of the regionals events like they are getting in Europe

 

I wish eventually they would do a short event where the regionals switch around. I get the idea of exclusives but I feel like it's been long enough now that it doesn't matter...
