I like New Again I don't love every TBS record, but I do at least like all of them. Each of them has songs I love though.

 

New again is the exception for me. Otherwise, I am right there with you.

I like it too, I like the whole album. Those 3 three tracks just deserved a call out because they are great.

 

Not even the Live From Orensanz versions of them? I actually liked those better than the reworked older tunes.

 

Gotta be honest. I never bothered listening to it. It had my least fav TBS line up. I gave up on the band after I heard New Again. If John and Shawn hadn't come back I would have never listened to another TBS album.

 

You should give it a listen, Orensanz is one of my favorite TBS releases.

 

Matt Fazzi is easily the best all-around musician that this band has had in it. I love what he brought to the band and think, had they had time to work out some of the kinks, the next album they could have made with that lineup could've been something truly spectacular. As it is, though, New Again is a really cool record that probably takes the most melodic and structural risks that any TBS record has to date.

 

That AP oral history where they all shit on New Again is still one of the best things that ever happened in that magazine.

Their self-titled is worse than all 3 of those albums, and it's not even close IMO

I never got into New Again, but every other album I'm 94.2% in love with. Only a handful of songs from all their other albums that I'm not into... By far this is the only band for me personally that the majority of their albums have been fucking amazing. It's been so long since I've heard New Again, maybe I need to give it another try. I see them in concert tomorrow for the first time. So excited.
