Melodrama is an improvement from Pure Heroine for me in pretty much every way, but the biggest thing is that it feels like a full album with a story and a theme. Pure Heroine feels like a collection of really good songs.

 

I'm in the camp that prefers Melodrama but still really loves Pure Heroine

Yes. It's so good.

I think I've found a new appreciation for pop music this year (Bleachers, Paramore, Lorde) especially with how they approach songwriting. I adore Supercut.

Always fun to gain a new perspective, because I can start appreciate different things when I go back to my favorite albums.

 

Day 4 of having The Louvre stuck in my head on repeat, despite having not listened to the record in maybe a week or so. It just won't go away...

I'm pretty sure she was about to play Hard Feelings for the first time at Lolla last night but then she got rained out right when she was about to start it.

 

That's a bummer. I'm dying to hear that song live.

 

She looks very mysterious among the reed plantation.

 

It was supposed to be ME who saw that song debuted live. Damn you Mother Nature. I'll never forgive you for taking that from me.

I loved her reaction to Jack's ending lyrics about him and Ella in Golden Gate Park, haha

 

The performance seemed pretty impromptu, in the best way. I don't think Jack expected to actually sing until she put the mic in his face.

 

Oh hell yeah, definitely going watch that. Awesome that she did half the entire album, ha

 

These are so cool.

Edit: Holy shit, that's Ray Suen! He used to tour with the Killers. I always wondered what happened to him, haha.

 

Just realized I somehow had never heard her speak before.
