Just an FYI if you're interested in AirPods I ordered a pair from Target 2 days ago and I'm supposed to get them in the mail on Saturday. Apple's site still says 6 weeks. Not sure if that's accurate or not but just thought I'd share.

Ok, so I legit thought i lost my Airpods (but did find them). I was just wondering if someone could explain this for me. The find my iphone but for airpods says it will make a noise to the airpods when they are connected. However, it only made a noise once i found them AND flipped the lid. So do they only connect once lid flipped? Does that not kind of make the noise pointless if say you are trying to find them hours later.

 

I randomly stopped being able to receive group messages if there is an non iPhone user in it. Any idea how to fix this?! It's driving me fucking insane

 

I think the point of the "find my airpods" feature is to find a missing airpod that could have fell off your ears somewhere. I don't think it works if they are in their case.

Whats up these rumors of the Apple Watch Series 3 and Cell Networks? How legit is this?

 

This close to the keynote, likely legit. It’s also the next logical step for the watch.

Also a grain-of-salt rumor from Gruber that it will have a new form factor as well. Not a lot times I’d really need my watch to have LTE, but when running (or if I just don’t want to bring my phone) it’d be a godsend.

Edit: actually, the more I think about it - there are a lot of times I’d enjoy being untethered from my phone.

 

Oh yeah! I saw something about that too. I suppose we will find out soon about it all. Depending on the updates, I'll probably stick with the watch releases more than the iPhone. I use my watch way more anyways. Hardly ever have my phone on me unless I absolutely need it.

 

I just worry about A) price of an LTE model and B) carrier plan pricing. I’m not going to pay ANOTHER $20/mo for a “line access fee”.

 

I think it would be cool if it gave you the option of purchasing network data/plans on a monthly basis with no contract. Without the plan it could just act as a Series 2. Sort of like the they did with iPads. If that makes sense. I'm just brainstorming.

They definitely need their own version of Nextel's Direct Connect walkie-talkie feature. Man, that would be sweet.

 

My Series 0 gold Sport got lost in the pit during ETID last night - didn't realize it was gone until halfway through the set and figured it was a goner since it probably got kicked around for quite awhile. First time it's ever fallen off. Marked it as lost in Find My iPhone and a little later had a notification that it was nearby. Picked it up at the bar and although the straps got ripped off it really has minimal damage and the screen isn't cracked. Resilient little things. Was planning on getting the next model anyway, but I'm glad I don't need to buy a replacement in the meantime.

 

Yeah the amount of devices you need to pay monthly fees for to get the most out of them, combined with how much the devices themselves cost on their own now, is getting a little insane. Add in the fact that service providers no longer offer the deals they used to with 2-year contracts so you’re paying ANOTHER monthly fee to even have the device at all and it’s just ridiculous. I honestly don’t know how people afford all that stuff and then also have things like cable, Netflix, Hulu, etc.
