i know thursday and TEN are kinda influenced by different music styles such as post-hardcore, and kind of went for a different thing than Cartel, but I still think it was all kind of the same music scene and spectrum of promotion. Basically "the scene" referred to bands making more pop culture-oriented, hi-fi versions of 90s punk and hardcore music.

In the sense that they both made music, yes.

Meh. The hardcore / punk / pop-punk scene is all related and shares a lot of fanbases. Aside from people who try to pretentiously act like they are punk "purists".

After multiple listens, I don' think the new Fleet Foxes album is good. I think it's quite the opposite, extremely dull, not all that impressive musically, and borrriinggg

I didn't care for it too much. But I never cared for them too much.

My first show ever!!!! I'll go to a ten year tour and hate myself hahaha

Shaant is such a horrible person I won't accept this opinion

This providence's last and the auditions first record are both still great

TYGB's last ep should have blown them up, "the last perfect thing about this year" is a perfect pop punk song

one of the first things i did when i first joined ap and started listening to albums was ask for more albums best listened in full like that one, hahaha. doesn't hold up at all but i would totally see a stage production of that still for nostalgia's sake

I saw Forgive Durden perform the album at Bamboozle one year, and they had Nic Newsham, John Gourley, Kris Anaya, Danny Stevens, Shawn Harris and Lizzie Huffman all show up for it. Honestly was a pretty awesome once-in-a-lifetime kinda thing

This is an opinion among casual pop listeners I know so idk how un/popular it is outside of there but

I am always getting into arguments with ppl who say Bruno is the next Michael Jackson. Just no. Why does anyone have to the "the next" anyone?? Just let them be. Its not even a slight on bruno. I like Bruno. I just saw him a few weeks ago, but Michael was a once in a lifetime talent. Like that's not replicated. It can't be touched. I don't even rly listen to Michael or stan him but he has It more than any other artist I've ever seen. Bruno is a good performer like just leave it at that lol.

if anything Bruno is the next Prince because he's filthy and tiny in the best way possible , but yeah comparing artists is dumb and unnecessary

Omg when I saw him the amount of hip thrusting and gyrating involved like I was clutching my pearls a bit haha! And I was next to that suburban dad dude with his arms crossed over his chest disapprovingly and I was wondering if he had ever rly paid attn to Bruno before and was feeling awkward next to his teenage daughters.

I get that nobody is the "next" anything because everyone really is unique but I also have a lot of fun drawing generational comparisons...like Hayley Williams is totally this generation's Debbie Harry

Mayday Parade are severely underrated and they got better as songwriters after Lancasters departure, even if i did like Go Radios music.

Eh idk if I see the lauper carly comparison Lauper had such larger "cool" factor while, I know Carly rae is growing in indie cred (idk how her team pulled this off), I don't think she's reached lauper level of "coolness"

These are all superficial labels but when it comes to pop acts this is what you got. Sound wise they're similar

I've always been impressed with the guitar work on all of Mayday's stuff. However I do think ALIR is their best album. That being said I also really enjoyed S/T and Monsters In The Closet. I haven't listened to their newest album.
