yeah I used to be super scared of the ominous 30 but every year I feel more confident and sure of myself as I'm figuring out this whole adult thing, so the hope is that by the time I reach 30 I'll be more awesome and sure of things and hopefully make more money lol so I'm not too stressed. I do wonder how my style will evolve and change so I fall for that 30 trope a bit (I mean I hope I won't suddenly start throwing out the mini skirts for like... pantsuit skirts but we'll see!!), but not sweating the love life by 30 thing.

I don't think 30 is old, and I have very little issue with getting old, but I want kids to be an option when I find the person I want to spend my life with. As someone who had zero parents by the time he turned 13, I want to do it at an age where I'm healthy and feel confident I can see them through college. It's a mortality thing.

This is understandable. My parents were 35 and 36 when they had me, and people are living longer, better lives today than they were when I was born. It's not unreasonable to have kids at 40 and be an active member of their entire lives. I mean, we're all gonna have to work until we're like 90 to afford retirement anyways.

I used to be dead set on being married by the time I turned 30, but I turned 30 last month and no such luck.

V true. I won't ever retire I don't think, unless they find a cure for the anxiety complex I have where I can work 70 hours in a week and bust my ass and then the minute I start to laze about on the weekend my mind goes "WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU LAZY PIECE OF SHIT"

I need half of that attitude. I get too far into "work to live and not live to work" and then I find myself slacking off too much. Also doesn't help that I constant feel like I'm terrible at my job.

My parents had me when they were teenagers and I liked having young parents and I love that they're not really showing signs of slowing down yet and i won't have to worry about them not taking care of themselves, sans an unfortunate accident or something, for another like 30-40 years. Seeing my friends with older parents stressing about it or having them already dead freaks me out. That was def hard for me to shake as a youngin. I didn't wanna be a teen parent in high school lol but it did normalize having kids super young in a way. Now that I'm older I'm like noooope that's wild, but now idek if I want children at all so who knows.

I just had to break up with a girl for the first time ever. That was brutal.

sorry to hear that man. the two times I've broken up with partners were so much worse for me than the times i've been dumped.

Yeah man. I basically lived with her for a year too, so making the 5 trips to and from my car afterwards was absolutely brutal. I felt like such an asshole

If you're thinkin' about it already, just get it over with. It's fucking terrible but I can only imagine it gets worse by just attempting to ride it out

Yeah I haven't seen her in a couple days and don't want to do it by text I guess

Yeah, i could've done it last night. But i had to do it in person. Somehow simultaneously felt like the most courageous thing i've done and the worst.

You know the myth (maybe fact? idk) that women's menstrual cycles can line up over time?

Is chorus like that, but for relationship turmoil?

Yeah everything was going pretty well but I didn't feel completely satisfied. The relationship was never clearly defined and I kinda made up my mind over the past week to end it
