Amazing, they could have been in a situation where they had Albert start, Beachum as a swing T, and Robinson in case anyone got hurt. Instead, Robinson is gonna start at LT and its functionally like they cut Julius Thomas.

Meanwhile, the steelers resign Villanueva for a deal cheaper than Beachum got, and cheaper than Brandon Albert came for.

so maybe I didn't expect him to report to camp and THEN retire. Thought he'd just never show up. I thought reporting to camp meant i was wrong. But my original fears were correct.

I still thought he was gonna retire. Matt quoted literally the only post where i was like "cool maybe he won't retire" because he reported to camp.

optimistic is a huge stretch and you know it. I hated that trade from the get go and repeatedly said I preferred to keep Beachum. Just because I calmed down doesn't mean I ended up liking the move hahaha.

 

This is just a pointless thing to try and brag about haha. You were literally the only person here who thought this could be a good move haha. Also, "I am relieved" and "I was starting to think" do not mean "I always thought this." You basically said it'll be heads or tails and now you're trying to talk about how you were right haha.

except I didn't. I went into the draft thinking we better draft somebody. I went into minicamp thinking he'd retire. I went into training camp thinking "at least he has experience and was good once, maybe he isn't terrible" but that is not optimism dude haha. As far as I was concerned, if Cam Robinson can play, he's my preferred starter.

No, those words mean that I was glad he showed up to camp because I thought he'd totally flake. If someone confirms your initial bias about them, that doesn't make you wrong for accepting the situation for what it is, and trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Saying "well he used to be a Pro Bowler" is me trying to talk myself into things being okay when they are not haha. It's my coping mechanism for the Jags being stupid.

 

And we're still ignoring the fact that you were the only person being remotely positive about Albert lol. It's not a "I told you guys moment" when we all told you first haha

If you really wanted to get stubborn about it I could pull up the 30 posts of me lamenting the loss of Beachum and thinking Albert doesn't fit our offense and that going older was a really dumb idea

 

I quoted a post that said "I almost feel worse with Albert out there". Like, that's just silly and false. If he was gonna play it certainly is better to have a veteran with solid career competing with a rookie than have the rookie be your only option. Even if the vet is a shell of his former self a rookie with no experience at LT can wreck your whole offense

 

I wonder if that fullback the Jags drafted with the Julius Thomas trade pick can convert to o-line

 

I remember a lot of people saying he would suck. I don't remember any saying he'd retire.

I remember all of us agreeing that acquiring him was a bad move, including me. Even if I didn't think he'd perform as poorly as you guys did... I did think there was like a 75% chance he wouldn't play a snap for us.
