"Sun" is probably my least favourite song, just don't really care much for it until the final minute and a half.

I totally agree. It couldnt be anything but the closer, but at the same time it kind of doesnt quite work as a closer. The flow does feel a bit off but honestly the songs are so well constructed that it doesnt bother me too much. The idea of restraint being a major part of the record is very interesting and it shows, in addition to all of the space and breathing room. I guess it also goes well with the nature theme the album seems to hold. I just need more time to digest all of it I suppose.

 

so like why is this stream a thing and more importantly how is it still up

haha. I guess it has something to do with me not really "getting" into music until like 2010. I have a lot of catching up to do.

I'm also a sucker for some innovative indie rock and this delivers that in spades

 

I love that song.. I love the belting about halfway through. Also really cool the way it goes from part to part, doesn't feel repetitive at all.

 

Yeah I would've put money on you being a big fan of that album, haha. Lots of great stuff on there.

 

I never really properly got into music (I did listen to a bunch of stuff beforehand but it was literally just ska punk and The Offspring) until the Upsides took a swing at me, and as a result my music taste rests solely in the 2000s onwards, haha. I know there's so much out there that I could be listening to but my heart always directs me towards new releases. My friends always jibe me for not really having any nostalgia, but at the same time I can judge them for what they used to listen to hahaha (in a jokey way, not actually being mean or anything)

 

Grandma is my favorite songs which I never saw coming

 

very similar to me! The Upsides was also very pivotal (along with Gatsbys American Dreams Volcano) in making me explore this scene and just more music in general.
