The only thing I dislike about the EP is the artwork (oh yes, and the organ+piano intro on WIWY).

 

It has garbage artwork and "Boxing Day" is pretty shit but the other four songs are fantastic.

 

In Disaster, I always thought Tom was singing: ".... float like a dog", and I didn't even question it since his lyrics have been batshit insane since 2010.

 

The title of DED is fucking horrible.

 

Only song on DED I find actually really terrible is Pretty Little Girl. Other songs all hover around the "decent" mark for me, still a better effort than Neighborhoods as a whole though.

 

I don't think I ever listened to DED all the way through.

 

DED is 3/5 good
Neighborhoods is maybe 1/2 good

 

I'll throw it in my Spotify queue.

I think if it weren't for Yelawolf "Pretty Little Girl" would be one of their best songs. Honestly I think it still is despite his dumb part.

I'm in the distinct minority that doesn't hate the Yelawolf bridge

 

I think that's the only good song on the EP.

 

Hate the Yelawolf part, but if it weren't included I'd still dislike the song haha. That bridge is just kind of a nail in the coffin.

In regards to Neighborhoods, I like Snake Charmer and Kaleidoscope. Wishing Well and Even If She Falls are also passable, but only because the rest of album is pretty shit.

With the song coming out Thursday, what do you guys think Matt is going to bring to the table that Tom couldn't ? Or maybe in what ways do you guys think he'll make Blink better ?

Good question. Only thing I could guess right now is that obviously Skiba is going to bring a more punk sensibility as opposed to Tom's U2-ish influence

Well, obviously aha. But I mean in terms of lyrically, I know Untitled was more serious but I know Matt can write some pretty deep stuff and I'm really anxious if any of that influence is going to come into effect. I'm not gonna lie, it would be pretty cool if we got a up beat pop punk song along the lines of "Stupid Kid".

At least one would be cool.

Yeah, Matt is still good at writing upbeat punk stuff (She Lied to the FBI and The Torture Doctor, for some recent examples). I'm definitely not opposed to having some of that style on the album.

 

I would say this is why we need a dislike button!
