Ellen Wong, and the practical effects were definitely my favorite part of The Void. Some parts were kinda awkward, and some of the writing was iffy. Though for a straight to video horro it was fun.

I really don't understand why Noe decided to add the heavy incest themes... it worked for I Stand Alone because it was about that, but I just don't see why that was necessary for a visual representation of the tibetan book of the dead and was very distracting!

A lot of stems from this version of Pennywise, a bit too on the nose with how he looks. Like we get that he's an evil clown but did they really need to make him look that obvious? Idk, I'm nitpicking here.

    Have you read the book?

Fwiw, I think Pennywise looks great from everything I've seen.

I'm talking from an aesthetic point of view, it looks bad in my opinion. Maybe I'm putting Tim Curry on a pedestal here but his version looks vastly creeper than this one does.

Cool trailer. The last kind of thing I'd expect to see James Franco in.

Or maybe you should read the book? It's great and it'd probably change your opinion on the look.

I bought the It book with every intention of reading it before the film came out. When I actually received it tho, I was so intimidated by the size haha. I'm a terribly slow reader. It'd take me three years to read it.

It's nice to see that you've made up your mind from some screenshots and a couple of clips. It really is a shame that you're comparing this to the TV miniseries.

The kids usually see that form of It as a terrifying clown, so that's how he should be portrayed.

Georgie will probably see a more childlike version in the drain...

I can acknowledge your point and still think the design of Pennywise is stupid. The trailer itself has me interested but the design does nothing for me.

Did I just become more excited for this than I am for The Disaster Artist?

Well, no. But I am excited

If I were to make a top 10 King stories list, novel length and short stories included, I think there would still be more novels than short stories. I feel like a lot of them were written on a whim and contain great storytelling bur aren't necessarily great stories. I know a lot of people say he can't write an ending, but the ending is normally the last thing I think of when I think back to his novels, whereas a lackluster ending in a short story is a lot more damaging.

    His novellas though. Mm.

I'm looking over what's come out so far this year and seeing that top 10 lists are going to be really interesting come December
