The most heart wrenching tale I've heard lately

 

Oh! Another band that I don't love as much as everyone else: Green Day. Haha

 

Noooooo.

 

Idk if the thing is "bands that are loved to an annoying extent" or "bands you like but not quite as much as most", I did the former but also have plenty of examples for the latter

 

Man, can't remember which of you just posted it, but someone said they love The Menzingers After The Party, but haven't checked out much else - get on the On The Impossible Past hype! Seriously, probably my favourite ever record that. Absolutely perfect in my opinion.

 

You might be talking about me haha, I love After the Party but the other albums haven't done much for me. I even made sure to revisit them after ATP clicked hard and they still haven't left much of an impression other than a few individual songs.

 

blink-182 would probably be on my most overrated bands list based on post-2003 output

 

You said it best brother. Literally forget they’re a band a lot until someone talks about them in a blink forum and I’m like “nah”

 

Green Day is a considerably better band than Blink

I never really got into them either. They have some fun songs and I recognize their importance, but well... I also recognize Nirvana's importance and still find them booooring.

 

Blink is honestly number one of most overrated bands. I still listen every now and then, but I will never understand the die hard hype for them

 

Better live band for sure. I saw them open for Blink and GD completely slaughtered them. But I like Blink's music wayyyy more.

 

I've always preferred Green Day and would always pick them over Blink, live and on album.

 

Second this! Dookie is a classic, but outside of that and half of American Idiot and Nimrod I'll take Blink any day

 

This conversation is really Deja Vu though lol

 

I also personally prefer listening to early Offspring albums over both Green Day and blink in regards to the big players in punk from the 90's.

Bleachers is definitely one for me which is sad. How you not gonna love CRJ though?

 

Love Revolution Radio and the Demolicous version of Uno! Dos! Tre! is great - but I still don't think I have made it through 21st Century Breakdown start to finish.

Green Day will always be one of the most important bands to me personally - remember my Dad got Dookie on cassette when it came out and I instantly fell in love with Basket Case. Really was the first album that got me into punk.

 

I like maybe 10 Green Day songs and that's enough for me.

I mean, does it matter? What else is there realistically to talk about? If anything, this thread should be dead at this point.
