Finally saw these guys live for the first time proper (I'd only seen them do a short festival set before) and my god what a gig it was. Such a great setlist with a really good mix of the last 3 albums. The run of Coffee Eyes, Devil in my Bloodstream and Don't Let Me Cave In pretty much destroyed my voice for work today.

Also they said that they've been writing the new album and that they hope to get in the studio soon to record it.

    Setlist

I hope they cut down to like 3-4 NCTH songs on the next touring cycle

looks like they've basically retired the upsides at this point too

Yeah they usually will throw in one. WSP, Logan Circle or Melrose. I think WSP should be a permanent staple

I've seen them 7 times and they've played WSP every show. Personally would love to hear bar bands live but I doubt I'll ever get to

I think there's only been 2-3 times I haven't seen WSP. But I've seen them close to 40 times now lol

im fine with them dropping some Upsides songs all together. not gonna lie id love to see WSP or LS or Everything I Own but their catalog is growing fast so its understandable that older material gets dropped. i cant wait for the new record/records

btw Dan saw my really really long post and loved it i almost cried. thought it was cool that i tied his story and the bands journey into this Odyssey comparison.

  14. TWY with a full orchestra

probably not, but i could see them doing that. sorta like that TBS live acoustic album.

Am I the only person who doesnt particularly care for No Closer? I guess I was just such a big fan of Suburbia, Upsides and the Greatest Generation that it kinda pains me to see them leave in a different direction. Im not really mad about it because I completely understand and respect their creative decision, and I think now that i think about it i guess i really dont hate No Closer, I just enjoy the other stuff much more.

  16. I've heard things about an acoustic album/tour. Could be fake though.

i for one think NCTH is their best work, but its kinda split as far as the fanbase goes. a lot of people on here didnt like it at all but people in the subreddit praise it to the heavens.

I did hear they had two albums in the works. One was a concept album, not sure about anything else

i wouldnt be surprised at all if we get an acoustic album and then the natural followup to NCTH. this is pure speculation but id be willing to bet theyre on Yips label now and theyre probably going to push their sound further.

id imagine the acoustic album is acoustic re-imaginings of their hits and fan favs and then the new album is just all new songs with a concept.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I like NCTH, there's some genuinely great songs on it

But the sequencing and production hold it back a ton for me. I rarely go back to it save a couple of songs.

The Wonder Years are my favourite band. I think I've made it through NCTH maybe twice. Something about it just did not click unfortunately.

I still love NCTH. It's probably my least favorite of theirs aside from GSOI, but "least favorite Wonder Years album" is still better than, like, a ton of whatever else is coming out these days. And I still love it.

Also after the discussion on the last page now all I want to do is construct my own personal set list for them, the way we used to do for other bands on here.

Not going to do 22 songs + a 2-song encore because I don't know that they'd ever be in a position where they'd play that many songs. I have 17 plus 2, which is still a lot but whatever.

    2. Dismantling Summer
    3. Coffee Eyes
    4. It's Never Sunny In South Philadelphia
