Serious question: what is the appeal of cassettes? I cannot wrap my brain around it.

 

Today in fact is my birthday!! And this girl I've been talking to is taking me out to this Mediterranean restaurant. I asked her, if she would like to do anything afterwards, and she said "well, I have a few tricks up my sleeve." Not to jump to conclusions but go ahead and cue up the Jeremih!!!

I honestly think this is the answer. Like vinyl, though impractical, provides excellent sound quality so if you're gonna buy a physical medium, might as well get the best.

Tapes? They cute.

 

Yeah it's not my thing either. The only two cassettes I own are the Brand New 2006 Demos and the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol I soundtrack.

But, she mostly just wants to look for 50-70s music on cassette that her and her dad used to listen to when she was growing up.

 

I used to listen to Pat Benatar and like, The Doors and ELO on my dad's cassette player. That was out of pure necessity though

Hahaha, we kissed some and stuff. We talked for a while and really had good conversation so that gets me goin.

 

But why not get them on vinyl where you have full album art/sleeves. It's boggling my mind, haha.

 

They're probably buying tapes from a used bookstore or thrift shop for like $1 though

 

I have a buddy who has an IG dedicated to his rare cassette collection. He's definitely paying rare vinyl worthy money for em. I don't get it either @bigmike. Records are so much more personable.

 

She doesn't have a record player and she got the tape player for free. But I'm in agreement with you. Depending on how things go, I know her birthday is sometime in September, I might see if I can find a record player to match her tape player and convert her.

When i briefly had tinder i had something about carrying avocados in my purse as on the go snacks and i feel like people matched with me just to ask me about it. Or if i was some sort of crazy person.
