You see, I was making a pun involving the word "rare" in reference to the running gag in this thread of a "beef timeline," connecting the two through the use of meat-doneness based wordplay. Hope this helps.

I have only listened to 2 The 1975 songs and for some reason still read this entire thread

 

Counterparts sounds like it'd come out of a Sumerian Records Band Name Generator so probably won't listen

It's kinda crazy how personally music gets taken. (Not singling anyone out because I sure as hell do too sometimes) Like if someone came in and said "I fuckin hate crab legs" or "John Mulaney is bad" I wouldn't be jumping back that the people who said that liked ketchup with their chicken strips or that they thought Aziz Ansari was an avant garde standup but it's so easy to get a personal attachment with music, it's a blessing and a curse

I looked John Mulaney dead in the eyes one time while walking around a festival and didn't realize who it was until like five minutes later

I can't believe my bad joke did all this. A little ashamed but a little proud (except for the use of the term "butthurt", legitimately didn't really get it was problematic until it was explained).

 

i too was helping to grill although i got too sleepy and departed

 

for what its worth i thought this was great and i appreciate you recognizing that that phrase can be problematic. you handled this with more dignity and had a modicum of self awareness that a certain other poster was severely lacking. so props
