because it's normalized homophobia / rape culture and is just sort of whack

 

It's always been bad, think of what it alludes to and how insensitive that is to people you dont know.

 

Never heard of counterparts until I was told to check out this discussion. I've derailed some threads in the past, but this one takes the cake.

That's what I meant when I said it's normalized, it's just been adopted by our language even though it's roots are very obviously fucked up.

 

Yeah I've literally never heard anyone use the term "butthurt" to allude to "riding a bike for hours" or something to that effect. That reasoning is exactly how it's been normalized.
