I have a full and I need to upgrade to a queen or a king in another year or so.

 

I used to have just a mattress on my floor but my parents told me if I wanted to keep living with them, I'd actually have to have a bed set.

I miss that mattress on the floor.

 

That seems like an odd stand to take.

My old bed frame was like 5 inches off the ground and was just a basic frame. No idea why I got this goddamn Noah's Arc of a frame now that it takes me a step ladder to get into.

Fuck, who am I kidding? I sleep on the couch in the living room because I accidentally popped my air mattress with my keys.

 

The storage space is a lie!!! You know what gets stored under beds? Junk. No bed frame? No room for useless junk.

Tbh part of my reluctance for putting up my bed frame is that I don't wanna deal with the dust, hair, and lost socks that will inevitably accumulate underneath it. I wanna bed frame that's flat to the ground with drawers tho cause I don't have a dresser. But I'm in denial of being an adult or putting this much thought into bedframes so I haven't done it yet

 

I have a queen size bed and I use every inch

 

My girlfriend and I have a queen and anytime we stay in a hotel, I dream of having a king sized bed. Even if I was single I'd save for a king sized bed. I also probably never slept as comfortably as I did as a teenager on my waterbed. Turn off that heater in the summer and the water temp is so perfect to get that cold winter night feel. Plus you heat the water in the winter like a heated blanket. Waterbeds with two people are impossible, though.

 

Having a king is great, but it honestly takes up half of my room. But oh my god when it's cold out and I'm sprawled out on my bed with my flannel sheets and Christmas lights on.....Comfy Towne 5000.

@bigmike can you go to the Sex (and WoW) thread and talk about banging on a waterbed cause that sounds awful

When I was younger I wanted my mattress on the floor, but it was a big nope for my parents. I also wanted a bed that was higher up and I hand to use steps to climb in. Now my bed is high-ish bc I decided to get a bigger box spring instead of standard size when I bought my mattress which was already plenty of height anyway so now I wish I got the standard box spring

 

I slept in a California king for several years cause my parents bought a house and the owner refused to move the bed. Which is funny because they did the same thing when they left lol. Anyway, hated it haha. I moved to a twin after that. I'm in a full or a queen now, I don't know.

Welp, gave tinder a try and actually met someone really cool, she does Comedy down in Ft Laudy and i've done a little myself so we've hit it off very quickly. Probably gonna go out tonight. It's weird, but cool. Haha. Feels good to be moving on honestly. Both coming off relationships very recently too so you know how that is.

 

So, I am now permanently booted to the couch for sleeping as of this morning. Not because of anything I do, other than wake up earlier than my girlfriend. This waking up earlier is to exercise, as well as clean our house, do our dishes, and go get her a coffee on her rough mornings. The only reason this is even a problem is because our bed is against the wall, and she "can't sleep" on the inside because of it. So, knowing full well I get up earlier than her, she literally corners me into sleeping on the side of the bed that makes me climb out at the foot of the bed every morning. No shit I'm going to wake you up. Such a simple fix.

I am so frustrated. The intimacy has already taken a nosedive prior to this, despite my efforts, and I am not going to sleep on the couch at 26 just because my girlfriend can't make one minor adjustment to the bedroom. This is entering deal breaker territory.

 

I just upgraded to a queen size for the first time and half the time I wake up diagonally, so I feel bad for anyone who sleeps next to me. I also have it on the floor right now because the frame I want is over $600 and I'll probably cry the day I pull the trigger and buy it (it's been in my online shopping cart for months). At least in the morning I can just roll on to the floor?
