Clear tones have changed my life string wise. Coated strings that don't feel coated. They last for like 3 months.

Also I feel like my guitar is louder unplugged with them on but it's hard to tell.

No worries at all! I didn't even remember ha. I was looking for a Micron months ago but I ended up getting a Yamaha Reface CS and I've been absolutely loving it.

I honestly can't stand Ernie Balls. I use Elixir Polyweb 11's.

SGs are a guitar that just are so pleasing to me in every aesthetic way possible. I'm in love with the way they, jazzmasters, and teles look.

yeah the SG is perfect. Telecaster too. Also the Les Paul. Stratocasters less so.

I'm not that big a fan of the SG shape, but this one was a steal, played really well and had a ton of character.

SG is a very comfortable guitar to play. Love those things.

He's kinda obnoxious so I have to divorce him completely from music by him I like if possible

I definitely get that as well, SP is my favorite band of all time though for countless reasons so I'm able to separate the personal from the art better than any other act, for better or worse.

Is it easy to learn to play the guitar? I know how to play music using a piano and that's it.

It's like any instrument, it depends how good you wanna get. If you're talking about stuff like reading music though, it's def harder. For every A note you have on the piano there's like twenty ways you can play an A on guitar lol

I would say piano is more difficult than guitar.

Finished the neck and upgraded most of the hardware. All set up with .11s plays like a dream!

Damn it looks beautiful! Is this a project you've been working on? The headstock reminds me of Suhr head stocks if you're familiar with their guitars

It was a J. Mascis Jazzmaster, but I've been continually modding it to the point where it's barely recognizable. And yeah, similar to suhr! Though my mind usually jumps to the peavey headstocks.

I guess peavey head stocks would have been a way more obvious comparison haha. Was it a squier? Where did you get the neck? What other mods have you done?

    Lots of questions haha

I got the neck from guitarfetish.com, it's one of their XGP maple-on-maple necks. Was skeptical at first but it is waaaaaaaaay the hell nicer than the price implies. I installed a new TUSQ nut immediately after I finished the neck (satin nitro laquer. Cue the hearteyes) and then got almost all new hardware. Tuners, tremolo, and roller string tree. Filed the saddles on the bridge to properly take thicker gauge strings, and removed the wax potting on the bridge pickup to bring out the microphonic potential in it. (Also yes, it was a Squier. Bought the body off ebay and it used to have an old strat neck Until that warped beyond repair)

EDIT: also I put a .5mm maple shim in the neck pocket which made it incredibly easy to get low action on the strings.

wow, yeah you did quite the number on it! im sure its payed off.

i actually have another funny question for you haha. BLK TRI pickups - youre familiar with them right? i saw on their twitter they had retweeted something of yours haha. im wondering if you know what the deal with their webstore is? everything says "coming soon"?? are they just completely out of stock of everything or am i missing something

I'm pretty sure they've been moving their whole operation and I think they'd mentioned somewhere that they're trying to build up stock so that it's less of a made-to-order thing. I really do hope they come back. Would love to pick up some stuff from them
