See now THAT I can accept as a continuation of BCR. I've never heard that version, but dang that makes me think how cool AVA could be with some harder elements paired with that spacey feel instead of just yodels and "landscapes".

 

Yup, exactly! This version is what I had initially envisioned AVA to sound like when we were just getting clips of songs back in the day. I liked the album when it came out, but it did seem a little boring as a whole because it was missing heavier elements that I was hoping for. I thought it was going to be a progression of Blink's Self-titled with the heavier parts of BCR and some spacey stuff. Basically pure epicness.

Idk why but the only song I don't agree on in that list is No Future. You know I love the California era but I'll admit the Adams Song riff for reused a LOT, but NF stands out to me as one i can't add on that list. Maybe I just haven't heard it yet.

 

And yes to all the other examples that have come up but I VERY SPECIFICALLY hate the "big loud riff" tom uses over and over and OVER again like it sounds cool. The others are recycled, sure. These are atrociously grandiose for the sake of what I'd assume Tom thinks is cool - it comes off as corny AF. My hot take of the day. Got riled up when I saw two people say what I've been saying for years.
