some ManOrch songs suffer from "Counting Crows syndrome" in that the live renditions eclipse the recorded versions, especially on ILAV. as @Jesse West said above Where Have You Been, Sleeper 1972, as well as songs like Wolves At Night and Colly Strings sound better live which kinda makes ILAV as a record feel obsolete.

I've never heard of Counting Crows syndrome but now I'm even more excited for their show.

its just something i made up lol. Counting Crows are just notorious for reworking their songs live, adding new verses or incorporating different songs together. a lot of time when they play "Rain King" they bust into a cover of "Thunder Road" after the second chorus. or in "Round Here" Adam will add lyrics from other Counting Crows songs, like the "somewhere out in america its starting to rain" from "Have You Seen Me Lately?"

I don't necessarily think his voice is bad on that album, it's just missing something that is definitely present on their other releases.

Watched this last night after listening to The Moth. It was a mistake. It was good but I kinda got bored by It. I don't want to listen to anymore live songs from the new album. Rather hear it on record first.

Also, seriously have never heard a live rendition of Sleeper 1972 that tops the album version. The added vocal harmonies and counter melodies on it give me chills and bring me to tears reflexively.

Bored? That gave me chills. Such a beautiful song. I like that he played it on an electric rather than going acoustic, very Julien Baker.

This is only a sidebar, but tbs + 3eb + the 1975 sounds weird as fuck and I'm in

I think it's just because when i watched that I was in the mood for a more upbeat song than what this was. But like I said in my post it was still good. Definitely looking forward to the album version of it

In the single? Maybe...10%. Its more 1975 than anything.

I'd love for this to be their best album. I think that would help rejuvenate the band for a lot of people.

That seems like an obvious observation when I put it like that, but I hope y'all know what I mean, haha.
