Never got into Baseball, but honestly Menorah/Majora rules.

Walk through hell was my favorite say anything song when I first got into them, and yeah definitely menorah/majora is a step up from most of the songs on baseball

    Max is starting the hype

I take to that kind of hype. Not explicitly comparing it to the fan favorite work.

I saw someone on Twitter say Max said there would be a new album in October at a show, but I also thought that he there wouldn't be an album until 2018. Really hoping for October, but who knows.

I do believe Max did say that. I've heard that before.

    Maybe he meant Perma?

Welp, I listened to all three discs of All My Friends Are Enemies today and I'm pretty SA'd out, but that just means you're going to have to deal with me posting my thoughts on their discography for another day or two haha.

Perma would be cool too. Time will tell, but I'll keep my fingers crossed. I mean IDTII was surprised dropped so anything is possible at this point.

By the way that was an incomparable feeling when I was just chilling in my room and glanced at twitter and BOOM new Say Anything album. Never been so caught off guard by a surprise release.

All My Friends is fascinating to me. I was also in bands in high school and grew up with the same bands Max did. My bands had the same influences as early SA but SA is son much better than my bands. Haha.

This thread kinda makes me want to revisit the SA discog, I've never really liked a full album other than IARB

I was about to be really taken aback, but then I actually thought about it and I disagree but I could see why someone would say feel that way (except Hebrews which is A+ from start to end).

Another super underrated Say Anything song in my humble opinion is "About Falling".

Lovvvve that song. Remember vividly in HS being obsessed with it.

I'm actually really shocked to see so many people loving Hebrews in here, I thought the consensus when it came out was that it was pretty terrible. Personally I never liked it at all, I think there were a couple songs in there I kinda dug but I remember the production being horrendous

IIARB is the only album I love front to back, and I truly think it's the peak of the band, sadly. That being said, I really like at least half of most all other albums except the latest

I remember the reaction being very mixed, and better than A,MD. I probably just chose to focus on the positive comments (a little confirmation bias or whatever the right term is).

I listened to IDTII today for, I think, the first time ever up until about halfway through Attaboy and, honestly, there's a lot of really interesting ideas and strong melodies on a majority of the album but the production completely holds them back. There's a way to do "lo-fi" that works, but it really, really didn't work out for this band.

I thought he said new Perma album in the fall and new SA next spring? Also that tweet about "Alive With the Glory of Love" vibes is probably referencing a Perma song but, yeah, who knows. He could've totally changed his plans, he is Max after all haha

    My jaaaaaaammmmmmm

I wouldn't look into Max's hype. Do you all remember how much he hyped up AMD as a true punk album in vein of IARB?

That would make sense and sound like more what I had originally thought. It's possibly he said new album in October but didn't specify that it was for Perm. And yes!

Well to be fair he said nothing specific here. Just that he feels confident abou one of the songs he wrote.

Yeah. I remember the days Max took to Twitter saying AMD sounded like early SA/IARB mixed with ATDI, Minus the Bear, and hints of Bob Dylan....

There used to be a website called Aboutfalling and that's where I got most of the pre-ISARB stuff from. Also live stuff was on there. One of the only SA fansites I knew about.

We Will Erase All Life On Earth and Slumming It With Johnny come to mind when I think of gems that should be on actual albums. Also Tickle Me Red is also a brilliant B-side. It's like Max could shit out brilliance so easily early on. Frankly his 00s output is so good I will probably give him a pass until he quits music.
