I second the votes put forth by my student.

 

Do It For Me Now - This is the song he started by working with Talib Kweli, or so I've heard. Once, I actually got a hold of Talib to confirm that they had worked together (this was before I learned that it was this song) and he confirmed but never knew what happened with the song. Anyone have any hard proof that it was this song? Was there an interview about it? Maybe he mentioned it in STM but I've forgotten? Anyway, this song is miles better than The Adventure which, while great, is grossly overrated for my taste.

The Gift - I don't love either of these but I really don't like Distraction so I'll go with The Gift. Some of these songs did not age well with me, it seems.

A Littles Enough - I had to listen to these songs I voted out because I couldn't hear them in my head. I like things about the verses in Good Day but that "I think I like today" line is so weird. IDK, I don't really like either of these songs. The outro to A Little's Enough won me over I guess?

Man, voting on this record really solidifies how much more I like I Empire and I hated that title. It should have been iEmpire. I always assumed that he was going for the apple branding scheme there? IDK. This band is all over the place for me.

 

Cold, not even a week and you've moved on. Us folk on the dark side have feelings too.

Also Tom was just on instagram live. He's in the studio finishing up the acoustic WDNTW album (played a preview of Do It For Me Now), and said he's also a recording a "punk" Strange Times ep. I'll keep my expectations low.

Honestly for post reunion Blink he doesn't sound that bad here.

It's just that damn guitar tone.......after the reunion he changed his rig and the distortion is just so flat and dry.

 

i was hoping we'd do I-Empire cause i like it more than WDNTW and it has the two best AVA songs (LLR and Heaven) but oh well

I thought about combining WDNTW and Iempire but that would take a while and I am getting burnt out running these things lol

Wow. Watching this now make me realise how long it's been since the reunion. Remember watching that in 2009 and thinking that they looked old. Tom and Travis were 33 then. It's still really young, haha

 

Probably why Mark has hit the ground running since Skiba joined. Dude is in his 40s now, can't possibly be doing this when he's 55-60
