I haven't seen anything but some local sports shows have said he's staying another year, I wouldn't blame him

I feel like a lot can happen in a year and he may change his mind and declare

Also I feel like a lot can happen in a year and he may not go #1 in the 2018 draft

I feel like tanking for a college player is so risky because of how dangerous of a sport this can be

Probably but there's a lot of good players they can use in a top 10 in most drafts since they literally have like no good players on 95% of their roster lol which is why if they overachieve and still only get a top 5 pick it's like there's some OTs they could desperately use also or like I said, literally any position outside of safety and interior OL

    Don't at me

No one is tanking anyway. It'll be more like Chicago/SF/NYJ throwing a late game in order to secure a better spot. See: Tampa Bay throwing the New Orleans game to get Winston.

While it's true, there's also such a high bust probability going from NCAA to NFL. Like, for example, about 90% of us LOVED Greg Robinson going into the 2014 draft, and he's been god awful.

But then again I also don't believe any teams ever tank in the NFL.

You don't need to tank when your team sucks, I guess tanking is a bad word to use but what else can you call sucking and constantly losing that's catchy?

That makes a lot of sense too, I find it funny that the Colts didn't do that in 2011 when they had a chance of losing the #1 pick to STL.

This just isn't a good year to tank anyway.

I think the NFL is the only league where tanking can even be a thing. The NBA and NHL is just so risky and the MLB draft barely even matters.

Well, sure Greg Robinson and lots of other busts but you have to make them make the bust choice. You have an advantage having a high bunch of players to select from and the ability to trade down to stockpile more picks, there are many pros.

The season hasn't started, I'm sure you and Randall will gush over someone you want when the draft is coming closer

Tanking is just moronic for anyone but a first-year coach (not rookie, but first year with team). Like, sure the team can improve while tanking, but who's to say you keep your job as GM/HC if your team decides to tank? Jobs change SO quickly in the NFL, I don't see any coach/GM willingly tanking.

Tanking in MLB actually matters a lot because the higher you pick the more you can spend on signing players, I don't think teams tank though but I've seen managers just not gaf all season and let the teams lose.

Nah it's the opposite, it'll be "look at who's coming out next year instead" and then next year will come and it'll continue

That's my point lol. I'm gushing over a lot of guys. Once the season gets going it's another story but right now, there isn't any clear cut "you NEED to get this guy" at too many positions.

I agree with that especially considering the quarterback history of USC

Oh really? Didn't actually know that.
But yeah, baseball is too long to really tank. Definitely seen people not care through a season though haha

That's not always good though, I think theyre given really bad hands sometimes. Like if tony dungy wasn't given all that time to develop the Bucs d and be really bad-average, gruden wouldn't have easily taken them to the super bowl and won. It sucks how you can use personnel as building blocks.

A lot changes obviously. I'm just really excited for this football season both in college and the pros. I'm probably more interested in football as a whole than I've ever been.

I'm pretty sure the reds tried to be as garbage as possible the year before last and they still only got the 3rd pick lol if you have more money you can sign players that are really good but want a certain amount to sign. For instance Blake enlow the twins pick this year, they got him in the 3rd round(would've been picked way higher if not for his price). He wanted 2m to sign and the draft slot price for the pick is probably less than 1m but because they had more money and spent it on players who would sign for cheaper so they could have enough to sign him.

I feel like these are 2 separate points hahaha.

As far as the Dungy->Gruden thing, I do hate how shit like that can happen and the recipient of the talent can get the credit. One also wonders though if Dungy would win the Super Bowl without the Raiders' signals.

As far as being dealt bad hands goes, I feel like that's where Bowles might be. I'm still unsure what kind of coach he is at all, because he's always just had shit and he somehow got one good season out of it, and multiple bad-to-mediocre ones. And he's probably gone after 2017-18, it's tough.

    Lol at the raiders conspiracy

Also Anton thinks Bowles sucks and seems like he wants him gone. He's the only jets fan here and actually coaches so he might be right. I think it sucks that he doesn't get the chance for sure when his team is garbage, he should've never won 10 games that first season.
