actually not even from/near Cincy so I've never had Skyline or Gold Star but it doesn't look particularly appetizing

 

Cincinnati is one of the top cities I want to visit. As I get older and learn more about cities, I still haven't heard a damn thing about Cincy. It's weird. Does it exist? What happens there? I must learn to know them.

 

Jags never went 0-16. Historically bad seasons also goes to the Lions.

 

Yeah but the Lions then actually did well haha. Jags currently hold the record for longest time spent picking in the top five. Historically bad seasonS.

 

That's not gonna be such a bad thing in a few years. Just my opinion. We wasted a couple of those top 5 picks but Fournette has the ability to singlehandedly change our offense for the better... and Ramsey has already changed our defense a lot.

If Fowler also comes around (more hopeful than probable, but he's still very physically talented post-ACL surgery)... that's actually a great haul from '15-'17 with that draft position. Even if Fowler continues to underwhelm, I feel like in 2018 and onward I'll be saying I'm glad we were bad long enough to get a pair of generational talents on our roster.

 

The optimism for the jags before every season never ceases to amaze me

 

That's a small fraction though of how long we've been picking in the top five/top ten. It's been what, ten straight years? No one else has to be bad for that long.

 

Granted, you're choosing to be either side. On paper, the Jags defense is one of the most talented in the league coming into the season. Optimism is choosing to ignore the coaches, pessimism is choosing to ignore the players. Jags have a bad offense and i'm not optimistic in anything other than the defense. Tashaun Gipson, Barry Church, Myles Jack. Those last two are two of our three worst starters on defense. That's pretty damn okay with me haha.

 

Meh. I just feel like they can only get it so wrong for so long haha. Everyone in the NFL wants to keep their job - eventually one of the coach/GM combos we hire will know how to do that. Our roster isnt near bad enough anymore to be an excuse for poor coaching and office decisions. If we continue to suck that bad, the reason is obvious and transparent at this point.

The Jaguars need to do three things.

1. Fire Doug Marrone
2. Sell the team
3. Move the team.

I honestly think they'd be a highly sought after team if they did these things.

 

1 & 2 yes definitely - but Idk about moving it...I don't think location is their problem, if they had a good team players would want to come play in florida, in a division that of late has not been THAT hard to win. The Texans are looking to improve but we won't know how much until we get into it, the Titans are forever meh, and the Colts can't get out of their own way.

 

Really wish I had same optimism for my team as jags always do

I kinda have optimism for the Texans

But it's a different kind of optimism

 

Like my optimism basically goes "Well the Patriots win everything and their fans are still defensive and whine about things so it's proof it doesn't ever get any better anyway"

 

Deshaun Watson is kinda kool

So now that the jets aren't gonna get Sam darnold... will they sign some random guy who is probably not good anymore?

 

I'm excited to watch Watson at some point but I also hate our current o-line and I'm finding it very hard to get excited for Tom Savage week 1

 

You forgot about special teams

 

I'm happy with special teams changes right now

 

Woah, then why play the season at all? It was the best NFL storyline of 2016
