Finished up the mini album rankings at the MO subreddit last week with Cope/Hope and just posted the RAGC album rankings thread a few minutes ago. Will be doing Bad Books, EPs and Splits leading up to the new album drop.

I think it's because the first verse is very quiet and just a few notes on the guitar. Simple Math was a few weeks old when they did that performance (if that), so I think they were still figuring out how to replicate those songs live - so it was easiest to cut the first part. Works well on the record, maybe not so much the first time you are performing it live with a TV audience.

Albums haven't been streaming any more really. I don't think we will get one

In totally ridiculous and nonsensical fashion based off descriptions and tiny clips, I think The Wolf, The Silence, and The Maze will be in my top 5.

I wish they would release a 12" for the Alien, because I love the single artwork (and the song obviously).

All the photos for this album are so cool. Made it an easier choice to buy the photobook version.

I feel like a lot of bands now release surprise releases, or will release the first song from something within a month from it's release date. It makes it harder to wait, when bands like MO do it the traditional way!

Is it just me or does it seem like the band has gained a ton of momentum heading into the release? It's been given lots of praise from those who have heard it and has received positive attention from "big" outlets like Pitchfork and NPR. SiriusXM stations are playing the singles and Spotify has even included them in their weekly featured releases playlists (The Gold and The Alien already have ~650k plays). Just seems like there's a good level of hype around the album outside of our community here.

I think it also helps that relatively big names like Catherine Marks and Jonathan Wilson worked on the album.

I would kill for 12" single collection or at least posters of the single art. They need to be on my walls!

If you're getting the photo book, then you'll at least have the single art in that format. You can always get a second book and rip it apart haha
