Watching Washington sportscast is awful. They keep shouting REDSKIN every time they say the team name. Meh.

 

Pretty gross, overly defensive fans of the Washington Bonercats' name get pretty annoying when they repeat the same old reductive arguments of tradition with the name.

 

The guy doing the stream of the flyers game I am watching keeps putting this video on between play. It's frightening.

 

I was supposed to meet my friend an hour ago. I have a reading to go to in forty minutes anyway so it's not like I came to campus just for her. But like, generally how long is an acceptable time to wait for someone? Apparently she's waiting for someone else (also my friend) but this is kind of ridiculous. At least she's texted me, I guess?

Update: we met for fifteen minutes because she came so late. I know that wasn't entirely in her control, but ugh.

 

Looks like me and my friends are going to see a screening of The Invintation with a Q&A with Karyn Kusama afterwards tomorrow night.

 

I finally decided to sit in on one of our newer plays at the theatre because I can't stand to be around a particular coworker anymore. I ended up enjoying the performance but damn, I can't sit in on plays every single shift just to get away from someone who is that insufferable.

I'm at the casino and Enrique was playing when I walked in so obv I was like ooh good luck but it's not turning out that way

 

That song was played at emo night last night (which???) and hardly anyone reacted. I was terribly disappointed.

 

I wish I was as bold as my sister. She cracks me up. These were to me before she called our mother and told her what was up. I would just go hide in my room if it were me.

 

idk if i would call myself a gamer because i don't think of "communities" like that besides probably the LGBTQ community, but ever since gamergate really brought the absolute shitty misogyny in gaming to a nice boil, i've adamantly refused to call myself a part of the gaming community and will likely never specifically return to it unless it sees ENORMOUS improvements in the next few years which i highly doubt it will

 

I feel like the gamergate sect of the community is yet another instance of a loud but small minority that isn't at all reflective of the gaming community as a whole, even reddit seems to look down on GGers outside of the safezone of /KiA

Still the whole lot is really, really shit.

 

eh i think it's a loud but small minority that does most of the worst talking but i think there's a lot of people who see it and think it's funny, or just the nature of the community, or justified, or whatever, and they don't do enough to speak out about how awful it is. so yes i agree but i'm hesitant to let the whole off the hook

 

I wouldn't detach myself from the label of 'gamer' because of it. It's who I am - I am a gamer. I play different genres on different consoles on a daily basis and it's been my life for the past few years. But the community, I probably won't be as involved in.

Speaking of which, how's that for GAMER GIRL, eh?? Pretty proud of this achievement. (Smite for XB1)

 

So Green Room was an absolutely brutal, draining film. Also my favorite of '16 thus far.

Every time I watch Purple Rain I'm in high school again and it's a late Saturday night on VH1 that just changed everything. Not many movies have that kind of magic for me.
