I like Manchester more simply bc they have more material and have a larger arc as a band. I think AGO will get there though. When its all said and done they will both be among my favorite bands

    My tops so far:
    1. Father John Misty, Pure Comedy
    2. Jay-Z, 4:44
    3. Kendrick Lamar, Damn.
    4. Sampha, Process
    5. Harry Styles
    6. Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Nashville Sound
    7. John Mayer, The Search for Everything
    8. The Menzingers, After the Party
    9. The xx, I See You
    10. Sorority Noise, You're Not As ___ As You Think

I'm thinking this, Manchester Orchestra, The National, Lana Del Rey and (hopefully) LCD Soundsystem & Arcade Fire will shuffle it up.

I watched them play the Season front to back in front of like 30 people in a shitty little bar one time and got a chance to talk to them (awkwardly) afterwards. They were basically the coolest. And that show is my favorite show I've ever been to.

Except maybe the time I saw MO before Cope. Lol.

Also, I just listened to Youth and liked it. It didn't immediately grab me like EIGTH did, but it's certainly good.

that sounds incredible. Its always weird to meet bands, I just met Andy Hull at that listening party and it was really awkward but he was really really nice. I know nathan bc he mixes all of my bands stuff so we've developed more of a relationship over the past year or so. he's mixing our Full Length so I'm pretty excited about that.

I am unable to not be a weirdo when I meet people whose work I admire, so I've actually avoided it from time to time when given the chance. Because it's better to just not be lame than kick myself for being lame. If that makes sense.

Nathan is definitely one of my musical heroes though. I absolutely love everything he's done, and think it's an absolute crime against humanity that they haven't blown up (at least to the level of other bands in this scene).

Hoping the deluxe vinyl doesn't come out somewhere minus the extras.
Really like the single. Different than what I expected but great melody in the chorus

Really like this, but I'm unsure on the production. It sounds quite compressed (could be my shitty speakers though). Regardless, I'm hyped for this. EIGTH was very hit and miss for me. Yellow Love, Cement and Stain were fantastic but there were a few duds in there. Youth is an absolute classic.

nothing really stuck out to me on the first listen of the new song... doesn't seem like they progressed in any noticeable way from the lsat one which definitely felt rougher around the edges. hopefully the rest of this record is more dynamic because this band can be BIG when they want to be.

Idk it seems like a great hybrid of what mat did with his solo album and what the band has done previously. Has those funky 90s like strum patterns that mat loved on his solo record, except it's in over drive and is a lot heavier.

I think this song is poppier than anything they did on EIGTH, which leads me to believe that the record will be more of a balance between Youth and EIGTH.

i really liked the harder parts on eigth. admittedly not a huge fan of youth or his solo stuff so maybe thats why im not into it. i'll give it a chance in context with the rest of the songs. still excited for it.

Will be very hard not to overplay this song. I'm worried that I won't have the will power to resist the urge to play it multiple times everyday

Dude yes! Your taste im music seem to be basically the same as mine lol. I'm still kicking myself for not picking that one up on vinyl when it came out. Really like the baby blue/white marble that matches perfectly with the cover.
