Last year was its second year! It was great, saw Earthgang, Marian Mereba, and a few other artists and had my first run in with Andre 3000 there.

 

It's bad and boring and every song sounds exactly the same!!! I only listen to Rihanna to turn up!!!! I can't turn up to a bootleg sigh singing album!!!

 

The fact that Andre was there should speak volumes tbh, he doesn't seem like the type to support an artist just because they're "the next big thing", he must see something in Raury or the festival itself.

 

I guess a good counter, which might be the more unpopular opinion, is that I think that, despite being incredibly cheesy at times, they're one of the better crossover bands in awhile and they put on a very good live show. What they lack in musical complexity, they make up for in stage presence.

 

I like No Closer to Heaven and think it's a great progression from TGG

 

I think Daisy doesn't sound good.

I think that Animal Collective's first album, Spirt They're Gone Spirit They've Vanished, is by far their best work.

And for something people actually care about. I cant stand most pop-punk. I think it's not very creative lyrically or musically.

It kinda is but I understand it. It's kinda how I've felt about The Hotelier lately and something I want to do better at, separating the art from the rabid fanbase associated with it.

 

What's wrong with The Hotelier fans? I've never understood it honestly. Especially when it comes to such great artists.

 

Came here to say basically this

 

With fans I know of The Hotelier, it's been a combination of "Liking this album means you're liking the word of Christ and anything criticizing it will personally insult me and we will have a problem" and also "This album artwork is so cool and artistic and it's a statement and if you don't like it for whatever reason you're a disgusting piece of trash" and that's a hard group of people for me to end up attaching myself to.
