Definitely gonna go back and see how often / soon the heads in the background start turning and other shit comes up before the characters start catching on. Thought I saw a couple moments on the first watch but I'm sure there are tons more

 

im excited to watch hell house llc now after reading these comments

 

also watched in the mouth of madness this weekend (currently working through all of carpenter's films). does anyone know how connected his apocalypse trilogy really is? i just need to see prince of darkness now, but i haven't read too much about what really makes them a trilogy at all.

 

I get it...it was definitely way more effective as a kid. I watch it now and love it for nostalgia purposes, but I'm like yup...I'd beat the shit out of that asshole doll.

 

Like if some doll tries to grab me while holding a knife, I'm punting that damn thing out the window.

 

Lol....the imagery I've created in my head is actually hilarious. I'll allow it.

 

The Conjuring movies are like fun rollercoaster rides. But sometimes rolercoaster rides are a bit too long and there's that last stretch of the ride where your face is like falling off and you're bored to death but the ride is still giving it all it's got and it's sensory overload and you're just like dude settle down.

I still think the idea of living dolls or toys is really creepy. The idea that inanimate incorrect, things you own, come to life when you aren't watching and night be malevolent.

Night of the Living Dummy gave me nightmares

 

Ironically enough I think Small Soldiers freaked me out more than Child's Play, and probably because of the government tie-in for the toys in Small Soldiers compared to a dead murderer's spirit taking over a doll (think that's what the backstory of Child's Play is). And with all the stories these days of toys being hacked due to Bluetooth and such only makes it that much more realistic and possible.

I was ecstatic when I saw Small Soldiers on amazon prime video a few months ago.

 

Almost picked up season one of Masters of Horror the other night, I've never seen it but I love anthologies and the names attached were great. Can anyone confirm whether it's worth $7.50? haha

 

Imprint is the true gem out of that series.

 

Imprint is great but there are a lot of really weird awesome ones. Jenifer is fucking nuts

 

Falling behind on horror these days. Can someone suggest a couple movies to me? Could be old or new though I've seen a lot of old ones already-- mostly looking for things i havent heard of. I'm really into the weird/mystic but also the murderous creepy shit too. Some favs of mine are The Shining, Misery, Hannibal movies, Rosemarys Baby, The Fly, Suspiria, Hell Raiser, Eraserhead... some newer ones Babadook, The Others, It Follows...

Yes, in theaters and I loved it!

 

Berberian Sound Studio, The Descent, Session 9, and Martyrs are all well regarded but slightly under the radar. The Wailing from last year was great. The Evil Dead remake from 2013 is bloody fun.

 

recent - antibirth, baskin, a girl walks home alone at night, the eyes of my mother, hellions, last shift (not a die hard fan of that one but a lot of people loved it, very silent hill)
some older ones - begotten (sounds very up your alley if you dont mind how experimental it is), possession, society, the beyond

 

^Those recommendations are better tailored ha. Baskin is wild, and I liked Last Shift as well.
