News on once the clouds are gone. Prestigious

I've been reading a lot about this in the last few hours. I've been sitting on it for 24hrs because I was busy yesterday,

Gordon is a massive toolbag. I hope he's happy playing with his daddy. For as much of an A-hole that Aldridge was and is, at least he didn't write a half-ass letter pretending to care, mentioning a random player he played with for a year 4yrs ago and friggin subway sponsorship. He knew he was leaving when his daddy got the job and wanted to pretend he didn't want to get out of Utah immediately, I don't blame him for wanting to leave Utah but to be that much of a dbag about it wasn't cool at all. He blatantly lied to all the credible beatwriters, reporters, all the players on the team, management and coaches. He's an absolute coward and deserves no respect at all, in thay sense he is perfect for Boston.

I was thinking about it for awhile and I realized, he's made the playoffs as a good player once in his career. He only made it once before that one year and only because big al, millsap and the other vets carried them. He's not as great as it seems, he's always been a good stats bad team guy. He had a career year in Snyders system and he went through three other coaches before that where he was just mediocre. Jerry Sloan couldn't even get him to be aggressive. I'm sure he'll be fine with Stevens but let's stop the hot takes of how amazing he is, half these talking heads have seen him play a handful of times.. if even.

It's funny how many temper tantrums the Celtics fans on here were having when the team was contemplating trading some of their players for butler or George, now that they signed Hayward they're alllll for trading those guys for whatever and it doesn't matter. I wonder what the difference is between those three guys? And they supposedly had no bench last year so how's that going to change all of the sudden? I feel bad for the rookies they have literally wasted and even now have to waive. It's really shitty, if I'm an agent I never want my player going there because they're just going to get buried as long as ainge/Stevens are around. I really believe they picked those players to be assets that they could trade but never were willing to let them actually see game time because it would hurt their stock. Now these players have to play abroad or in the d league and may never realize their dreams because of a guy who hoarded everything, stubbornly and still hasn't used those assets on literally anything.

At the end of the day I respect his decision to leave but the way he did it was kind of awful. I understand that it's a big decision and a hard one to make but the way he treated it was just really cruel and unkind, it could've been handled much better.

Next season will be really interesting.

This is what happens when I'm off the cyber too long lol

Agreed. I don't think he is the most amazing player, but Utah had worked on building a team around him and creating a system to maximize on where he is good. You are right, he planned on leaving the second Brad Stevens became the coach in Boston. He should have just been up front with it. Instead he let Jazz fans put up billboards for him, teased that it was a hard decision, blatantly lied to the beat writers, teams and fans and then released a faux-heart felt goodbye.

The hilarious thing is I've seen fellow Jazz fans here in Utah saying how he handled this was classy. Really? When it leaked yesterday morning he should have just owned up to it.

Also I do blame him for wanting to leave Utah. He left a team and city that would have stood by him, win or loss for a city that will turn on you in a heartbeat. He left a team that would no doubt have put a statue of him outside the arena one day, named a road after him and embraced him completely. He was scared of how hard the west is, and took the easy way out, that is fine. He went from a team where he was the guy to a team where he is just a guy.

Oh well, here is to rebuilding for another 5 years and then getting screwed over.

From a portland fan to a Utah fan, as a small market team; its never a great idea to build around one player you aren't sold is truly staying. It just hasn't worked out, when's the last time it did?

I think if he just said he was leaving and let it go, put up the article later he would've been far less hated but instead it played out really poorly of his character. Teasing that he wasn't decided yet and then publishing whatever the hell that was was like a triple spit in Utah fans faces.

Small market fan team rebuilds forever ftw haha I'm sure the jazz will be fine, they'll make the playoffs again and stuff for the next decade. It's not like heyward was going to ever win you a ring. For me, I just don't understand because as a whole I think the jazz roster is way better than the Celtics one and has way more longevity but brad Stevens... brad Stevens.

I wouldn't be surprised if the brass of the jazz thought he was gone when it initially went up but publicly played it out that way so he had to own up to it and tell them to their face. I would've done the same thing.

Ah yes, very smart for the Pacers to have big money tied down to Victor Oladipo and Kelly Olynyk

Pritchard is a guy who loves making the playoffs, or something. He's said that they always need to be competitive because they play in Indiana or something before, not surprising that they would go all out for olynyk. They need to tank

Yea, they should be and learn from the KP experiment where they wore him the hell out in his first two seasons. It's a monster transition when they come to the NBA, most people don't understand how much more work they have to do just enduring that. I think they have to sign a veteran to make sure they don't make that mistake again and let him slowly adjust. I hate rondo but it's probably better than signing waiters ha
