I really don't want to rank, but I'd definitely put TDAG and Daisy in a different tier from YFW and Deja.

You are wise human, I agree with you. Aside from Gasoline, which realy gets my Saiyan blood boiling for battle, and a couple other tracks, I listen to Deja in my space pod much more often.

Vin's use of dead notes over the bass line of Sic Transit....man, that song is a killer. I love the theme of the song too. It's a rock song but extremely unconventional, as well as the first time we really heard Jesse scream like that which became much more prominent on the next two albums.

As time's gone by the more I listen to Deja, the more it feels angsty and with unashamed influences of bands like The Smiths. And that would probably make a lot of sense, right? Given their age and the music they were probably into, Deja makes a lot of sense.

I could never in a million years allow YFW to be grouped with Deja. YFW has very small glimpses of Deja (No Seatbelt Song), but otherwise I'd struggle to even think they were albums by the same band.

Undoubtedly a great album, although I do find myself going back to it less than TDAG and Daisy.

No way is "darkly the dark hand" more mature than anything on deja.

I think the most realistic, Brand New-esque and favorite lyrics from Daisy for me were:

Somehow I always knew when everything was unsaid,
i'd go and buy a hammer, never sing again.
