hell yeah it is, what a stunner that was. wednesday was my first time seeing them, i'm still on cloud nine from it. what a live band.

 

Had no idea it was even happening til I woke up at 11:30 and my girlfriend was like, surprise! Haha

I think I'll end up returning these headphones just because they're $350. But Holy. Shit. The Gold and The Alien sound absolutely incredible on a really good pair of headphones. All the little intricate layers they have added. 10/10

 

You should really keep them. You'll be able to hear every song that way. Best investment.

 

Oh shit first time? I bet you'll see them every opportunity you get from now on. They had that affect on me, I've seen them I think 7 times now and I never miss them because every time they just blow me the fuck away and only seem to get better

Somehow I'm just no finding out that there is a b-side entitled "Jimmy, He Whispers". Was this recorded during the METN sessions?

Reminds me of a Right Away, Great Captain track.

 

More than anything I just want to hear this full length cover of "Thriller".

Left on a road trip at 4:30 this morning and was listening to XM. "The Gold" came on just as the sun started rising and it was glorious.

This album is real good and is what I wanted Simple Math to be although it's retroactively caused me to enjoy SM more so that's a win/win. I think those of you with tempered expectations will be very happy but those expecting an ILAV/METN pt 2 will be sorely disappointed.

And that's all I have to say about that

 

Simple Math is my favorite Manchester Orchestra album. How will I like the new one?

 

You'll like it a lot. Bc this took everything simple math did and perfected it in all aspects. Song writings better, productions better, vocals are better

 

I like can't even listen to new music bc all I want is this record haha, it's actually quite sad

Ugh, god, that's EXACTLY what I wanted. SM is my go-to record for them, since every single part of METN is just etched into my brain. I love that album, especially the last three-song stretch, but it always feels just shy of being their best album.

 

Didnt think i could possibly be more stoked for this and now I am. Just spinned SM today and after reading @teebs41 comment I can't wait to hear this thing. It's now officially the Manchester album i've been most excited to hear pre-release and could very well end up being my favorite Manchester album overall. The Gold and The Alien are so good

 

Happy that the record announcement, release of a song, release of a video, and release of an album hasn't been dragged out over months.
