I started seeing a new girl two weeks ago, and we have already been hanging out pretty regularly (five times). She invited me to her birthday party two weeks from now.

Any ideas of an appropriate gift for something so new?

has she brought up or mentioned any places/events since you've been hanging out? Like talked about going to an attraction (museum, theme park, city event, concert, etc) or other place in your city? you could pick up passes for that and make it another date for you two.


I also like to either buy a record they've mentioned or we listened to or talked about or make an actual physical mix cd and draw/color the cover and tracklist and everything myself. both are somewhat inexpensive and personal. win-win.

Yeah, I agree with that. I was gonna do it in a room of complete strangers, since I went to the open mic once alone to watch and the next week to 'perform' before I chickened out. There was a dude who posted in the hockey thread on AP who is a touring comedian in Canada and I sent him material in the past and he said there were nuggets of good things in there that just needed experience being on a stage. I dunno. Maybe I'll do it at some point in the future.

 

Late to the party, but just wanted to say I'm sorry for the breakup and having to go through it. Learning stand up sounds awesome though.
